Is there only one? If not; which one do we use? How is it specified / which vehicle does it come out of?

Re: Race track web sites
They'll USUALLY have it under "contact us", but be careful... I map-quested a paintball field once from an address I got of their website and wound up in front of the owners house 30 miles away (it was the "mailing" address. If you get the address check it on mapquest, google ear...

Re: Need more input on the FV manifold rules
Dietmer, Bruce and SteveO, the new suggestions have not gone to the SCCA/CRB and as such, comments to the CRB would be inappropriate at this time for the NEW suggestions. -Jim Jim (sabre1); I don't think comments would be inappropriate. It may be confusing to reference the new suggestions, but vote...

Sorry Brian, but I just gotta say it; I'm not concerned about impressing the CRB or "Board"hardingfv32-1 wrote:Jim

Jim; You have some experience with restrictors; what size hole would you guess (or maybe you have data) would it take to mimic an "average" national manifold? What would it do to the shape of the power curve (if anything)? Brian; I'd love to agree with your '...manifold lasts a lifetime......

Manifold prepping illiterate here, but curious none the less... If the flange dimensions were added to limit the practice of hammering the ID larger and thus enlarging the overall dimensions; couldn't the two specified dimensions be constrained and the "bulge" would relocate elsewhere (wit...

FLOORS!
Hi guys;
I'm planning on putting a new floor in my car before the season starts. I've already decided that it will be aluminum. My question is what's the best grade (or favorite grade) to use?
Thanks

Re: fuel and tires at Regionals
Some tracks will not have leaded race fuel (NHMP), I think unleaded is bad for our engine's valve seats. You can also buy before leaving for the track if you can find a dealer: http://www.sunocoinc.com/site/Consumer/RaceFuels/DistributorMap/ Tire guys depend on the track / race. They are always at N...

Yep, thanks Steve I chucked the inner bearing surface on a lathe and put an indicator on the outer. That part looks good, I need to check the "arm" part now.

I think I'll give Brian's method a shot, it makes good sense (besides being cheap and easy).

Sorry Colin;
I THINK I'm at 56 horsepower, can't convey the area under the curve though... Other things to consider are HP losses through the drive train, rotating mass, etc.

Re: engine horsepower
Hi-jacking the thread: A while back there was a discussion about adjustable cam timing and how it wouldn't be an advantage to have track-specific engines with regeards to cam timing. Now I'm reading that RA engines would benefit from retarded cam timing. Can I assume that the previous discussions we...

Re: NJMP - Lightning Track
Bill Young ran a long box. I ran a short box. I was at my shift point (6400) at the end of the front straight without a draft.
You could run either, but I'm guessing a long would be better... I guess it also depends on how fast you get out of the lightbulb turn.
Hope this helps.

Re: Thunderbolt Track, Short or Longbox
Long Box. Grimes won, about 1 1/2 sec per lap faster than me. I had a short box, he had a long one :P . I had floating valves by the end of the front straight with no drafting partner. Probably the most boring vee race the fans (and plenty of them) had ever seen. We were all strung-out. The track is...

Re: NJMP regional 9/20 & 21
Hi Jim (and congrats on your double victories). As far as I know; no vee has run the thunderbolt track yet. I ran a short box on the Lightning course & it was OK, but got busy at the end of the straight with no drafting partners (it was just Jay and I, so we were more interested in passing than ...

Re: Low turnouts
Chris; Being in the industry; you should, no doubt, understand our executroids' reluctance to begin any negotiations with a new cable network. They've worked very hard indeed to secure our 0h-dark-thirty run-offs coverage on SPEED. Getting those re-runs of PINKS and whatever that Cuban guy's show is...
