Re: Lynx B hammerhead nose
TigerBob, The first photo is of a hammerhead nose, probably a lot like yours. The next two are of the same nose with the "wings" chopped off. The new configuration is for a vintage vee. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a3df22b3127ccef253630be16700000030O0wIas3Llm2bM2oPbz4K/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D5...

Holiday wishes.
Well, the world hasn't blown up,,,, yet. Or, has it? Maybe "The End OF The World" meant as we know it, and not an appocalypse.
Anyway,
A blessed and safe holiday to all.

Ed,
For only one race, borrowing a Hans should be easy enough.
Let me know if you can't find one to borrow.

Thompson Speedway for NER
Thompson Speedway, located in NE Conn., the first paved oval in the US, and the first permanent road course in the US may re-open the road course, which has not been used since 1978, when my parents were racing. I could never forget the vees getting air-bourne when coming back onto the oval. Look he...

Addressing the plug issues only, as it seems you may have bigger issues:
If you look at this site, you will find a repair for already helicoiled plug holes:

Good luck.

The del Rosario account was opened when my mom and dad were racing vees against Tom Galuardi in the North East.
Tom knows how long ago that is.

Re: 36 Vees at 20th Blackhawk Classic
That is great! Keep up the good work. Is this with a vintage group? Yes, we are a vintage group. We adhere to monoposto rules for all cars, so there is only one class on the track, as we get our own race group. http://www.monoposto.com Pretty cool eh? It's like stepping back in time. The cars we ru...

30 Vees pre-registered
At VSCDA's Spring Brake Weekend, taking place at Gingerman Raceway May 3-6, we have 11 vee drivers in the Friday drivers' school and 30 vees pre-registered for Saturday and Sunday races. :D Yeah! Note: All vees in VSCDA must conform to monoposto rules, thus, this is a single class of FV, with our ow...

Re: Spec Tires
I asked a CRB member that I know personally, and he did some asking around. His reply: I did a little research, here is what I found out: 1. FV, was never meant to be a spec tire class 2. Cost for SCCA to do a full test with all the manufactures, to find the right tire, is very expensive, and the ti...

M.V., You're lucky it was just a mosquito! Have you all seen the video on Youtube of the deer at Blackhawk, sliding across the track between two vees running at speed in turn 5? I don't remember the name of the video, but I would guess a search for "FV deer" of "Formula vee deer"...

Maybe this thread ought to be inthe Novice section? Just sayin'. Here's a tip that will save newbies lots of money, frustration and lost track time. How many veterans have seen novice FV drivers limp a car into the pits with spun engine bearings because they didn't know how to check oil level in a v...

Re: Brake shoes
Grind the angle into the brake shoes, not out of the adjusters.Or you could spend 5 mins with a disc grinder
Make sure you take the burrs off of both sides of the shoes. You don't want the ends to hang up in either the adjusters or the cylinders.

FYI:
Older Zinks, built by Ed Zink & Co. are designated Z5.
The same model cars, but built later by Steve Lathrop & Citation Engineering are designated C4.
Yours would be a C4.
