Re: Minimum Weight Survey

This issue has gotten way off track. I allow many people to get in my Caracal "C" as I try to get people to consider FV. We can talk about minimum weight until hell freezes over and have avoided other consideration that prevent people getting in the class. Most cars are sized for people le...

Re: Minimum Weight Survey

I already have an 0.092" thick steel floor and 40 lbs of lead in the car. I also start the race with a full tank. Some tracks have me at minimum, while others have 5 to 10 lbs over. One track has me at 5 under. You have to take into account the variation in track scales. If the 1050 was put in ...

I bought my first vee from Tom, a Predator.

Tom and his wife very gracious and hospitable to me.

Thanks for the memory Tom.

Re: VARA Racing at Las Vegas

Dietmar

Thanks for the info. I am not interested in the points, just looking for some seat time and have some fun with vee people.

Vagas is closer to me than any other track next to Miller.

Hope to see you there.

VARA Racing at Las Vegas

I know that this question has been asked before but I will ask it again.

I run a Vee here in Utah in SCCA. Can I run my vee at Las Vegas with Vara?

I have a 89 Caracal.

It is a long trip for me to other tracks.

Re: SRF vs VEE

I had the "Best Seat in the House” for the incident in turn 1 at Miller”. I was on the inside and let Brian in since he had the better line. My plan was to tuck in behind Brain and follow him out of turn 1. The SRF came from the outside of me and Brain and just turned down and into Brian which ...

Re: LRE Drums Powdering Splines

I have had one case where the drum would wooble on the spline even though it had just been tighten. I replaced the drum and it began to wooble after two runs on the track. I checked the spline and it was the problem. I replaced the axle and now have many many runs on the drum. Short story; check the...

Re: Battery charging question

I made up a cable that I attach to the battery of my tow truck and a quick disconnect on the car. When you attach to both the two batteries will equilibrate to the same voltage and there is no possibility of over heat the battery. You can also keep them connected for any starts in the paddock and th...

Re: fuel and tires at Regionals

If you are just starting, it is best to haul your own stuff. Use avegas from your local airport. Tires you can buy and have shipped to you. You can then have them mounted at your local tire store. There might be a problem getting them balanced, but that is a differnt problem. At the track, Hosier an...

Gentlemen

Thanks for the help, but the car was sold to another guy.

I am looking for a project car to build. If any one runs across a heap of parts waiting to be a car, please contact me. I am interested in any formula car and a supervee would be great.
