Re: Formula Vee Meeting during the Runoffs
I have to agree with ED. The go fast parts help once you've learned how to drive fast, but you are wasting your money if you think its going to make a slow driver fast. I've gotten faster every year and have only made minor changes to the car (the biggest being dropping lbs off myself).

Mid Ohio October Regional
At mid-Ohio this past week ending Paul Anderson was involved in an accident coming out of the carousel and hit the front wall pretty hard. One f the corner Marshall's said he may have broken his arm. I'm not sure if that is true or not. He did get out on his own power. Hope you are okay Paul, hate t...

Re: The start of a project
My Dad has a car called a Lilley in his garage that is similar to that one. Although the lower fram rails are different, but I think his is actually a copy of the three originally built cars.

Re: Regional Championships
I agree that some regional drivers would not have the experience of national drivers, but I'm not sure they would risk anything more because of a regional championship race than they would at any other regional race. About half of the regional guys do nationals as well so I wouldn't personally be an...

Regional Championships
I was just wondering if the regions could make regional completion more appealing. In the Great Lakes division and I’m sure in other divisions, the regional championship has about zero appeal. Most of the drivers don’t even qualify for the championship. What if regions set it up using the same forma...

Was the tach jumping at all? Had an issue at mid-ohio where it ended up being a battery cable connection coming off the wire. It lost power when I shifted and then came back and then lost power again.

Re: Tires?
Do you know that a Waterford Hills weekend is $205 (SCCA member price, $150 for members) for one qualifying and 3 races, need to have a muffler, but there was only 3 vees at the last event all running on old used tires. I'm a big supporter of spec tires, but I do think it is a combination of entry f...

I've got a set of mild steel that are made for a Caracal C. 4 into 1 collector over the zero roll. Is that what you're looking for? Let me know and I will send you some pics

Re: checking rear camber
I do check it from the wheel, but they are pretty much new and have never been bent. It is a Caracal and the front beam is very high on the frame so I'm not sure if that make much of a difference with a zero or not, but it isn't bent. I've had a couple different tranny's on the car with the same sit...

Re: checking rear camber
There is no binding in the zero roll when I jack it up, but when I check camber on level ground there is big differece from side to side and i notice I'm getting uneven tire where on the side that has more camber. The car actually handles really well, so I'm a little reluctant to change anything. If...

Re: SRF vs VEE
I totally agree Brian, I've only had the to run with them a couple times and found they just can't see a vee. There is no reason they should'nt run with the slower tin tops. They learn to be agressive and they have the ability to rub one another but in a vee its a totally different situation. I don'...

checking rear camber
I was wondering if people change/check camber by adjusting the shock or adjusting links from the trailing arms to the shock/zero roll. My total camber is good but is uneven from one side compared to the other. Is this scrubbing straight line speed? The difference from the right side to the left side...

Re: FV Future
I'm not sure why a discussion is really needed about this issue, considering they are two different classes. Why not just let it play out. People are going to choose which class fits them best. The FST committee has done a great job in the Central/Great Lakes division. There seems to be plenty of co...

Memorial Weekend At Grattan and Waterford results
Who's going? We have two cars going, me in my Caracal and my Dad in his Protoform. At Waterford Hills last weekend we had three generations on the track me, my dad, and my nephew. I won the race on Saturday, and my dad won them both on Sunday. (proving that Wisdom still beats youth) My nephews first...

Yes, it is a protoform body that I'm pretty sure was modified at one point, but that is about the end of any similarities to the protoform.

New addition to DDCRacing
My 15 year old nephew is going to drivers school this weekend at WaterfordHills. This is a highly modified Lynx B, that was modified by Gordon Leslie who raced at Waterford and in Canada. My brother just finished the paint over the weekend. Midnight Blue Metallic. Not bad for spending a day sanding ...

Just wondering what everone uses as an overflow catch can and where if you have a lynx or caracal. Right now I use an ugly quart container that i bought from Wal-Mart in the rear, near the trans and I need to relocate it. Would like something nicer that is skinny enough to fit behind the firewall. Re: Why is the Sky Blue?
I'm interested to know why you would'nt like to see it at the national level but are okay with it at a regional level? As far as the great lakes region goes we didn't have enough entrants by anyone to qualify for any championship at all which was only 5 entries for the year. We are in a situation wh...
