F5 FF FM FV S2000 + CF F6 FST
Has anyone race with this grouping in this division before? Seems very eclectic. FM maybe, S2000 seems odd.

Re: Lightening axles
The "when in doubt" clause was intended to underscore the philosophy of the class and rely on sportsmanship to maintain the integrity of the class. Sadly, the prevalent trend in today's society is to be self serving at all costs.... That is a pretty righteous statement. Most the top drive...

Re: Lightening axles
Please note that there are a few competitors in FV that can 'honestly' interpret the rules with no 'doubts'.
For me this makes 'IF IN DOUBT; DON'T...' a statement that can not be administrated. I have no doubts, so I do..... A perfectly logical reading/interpretation of the rules.

Derek Harding out of California.
Is there any form of test day, track or SCCA run?
I assume a short box?

Seems odd to lock-in a set of rules that requires use of parts that are not in production and/or available from a retail site.

Re: Magneto-rheological dampers
I am intrigued with your logic or proposed loopholes: 1) How do you translate the state of a magnetorheological fluid, usually controlled by a magnetfield in this type of shock system, into a linear shock measurement? Or any type of shock measurement for that matter? 2) A O2 sensor requires power to...

Magneto-rheological dampers
A competitor in the NW states 'Warp Field Racing Dampers' as a sponsor. I can not state whether they are actually used by him. I am interested in the technology but have a concern relative to the FV class. While shocks are free, our power sources 'seem' restricted. I read C.11 as precluding the powe...

So what is the plan? Is someone going to approach Hoosier about only providing a harder compound, say R60? Who could represent FV in this case?

So with Goodyear gone, does this change the spec tire discussion?
Could this allow Hoosier to raise prices?

NO... The only thing stopping the implementation of a spec tire program is your lack of action. You are all talk and no work. If you want a spec tire program organize the NE Division.problemchild wrote: The only thing stopping spec FV tires in SCCA is negative people.

Re: Spec Tires
it seems the CRB takes offense to someone else doing what they should be doing This is not true. Effective help is always welcome. They just are not going to approve a change that requires additional administrative effort on the part of SCCA. Someone has to put the effort out to present the CRB wit...

Re: Spec Tires
Just out of curiosity who do you think would implement a FV spec tire program at the SCCA administration level. The CRB and Brd can approve such a proposal, but they are not going to implement it. Who handles such activities at the SCCA office?

Re: April Minutes
1) I would not depend on the Committee to approve dimensions that are accepting of the Chinese sets. 2) If the CRB adds the new dimensions under ‘Errors and Omissions’ there will be no member input. Seem odd that there is no outside review of the Committee's ring 'groove size and location' dimension...

Re: New Michelin FV tire?
A radial slick is much more expensive than a bias ply and would be instantly a must have item for everyone to remain competitive. There is absolutely no reason that changing the alignment of a tires cord structure is going to make them more expensive, nor that they would be provide any better perfo...

If you use a light weight gear reduction starter, with a little work/machining you can clock the starter to almost any position.

Liquid dish washer soap is fine. Remember, you won't have the belts very long before they need replacing.

I would say Brush Research makes the only good ball hones. That is probably what Goodson sell. Do a Goggle search for someone cheaper than Goodson.
