How come I can't view the never assembled, unmolested Zink C4 frame photos? It just says IMAGE.

Re: Need opinion on car to use for drivers school

I have been trying figure out if mine is a Z or a C car. With the hump-back engine cover, I thought it was an early car and probably a Z5 but I do not know the differences yet. When the PO gets back from Alaska in November, he will give me the logbook and that should tell me for sure. Here is my pro...

Re: Need opinion on car to use for drivers school

ok... So where do I find a FV that is for rent in the Florida/Georgia area? Sounds like it may be cheaper than getting my ngine built and it comes with support if something breaks.

Re: Need opinion on car to use for drivers school

I am planning on attending the double drivers school at Roebling Road in Feb. I have several people who have volunteered to crew. A couple are FV folks and a couple are engine/mechanic/supporting family types. Getting some great suggestions and that is what I wanted. I have a FV engine that came wit...

Starting a new thread about the DVD and YOUtube

I am starting a fresh new thread on building the FV DVD and YOUtube video so that it doesn't get confused with the others in this forum. I am creating a FV DVD that will be about 15 minutes long plus a shorter version that will be loaded on YOUtube. It will be called THIS IS FORMULA VEE and I will d...

Need opinion on car to use for drivers school

Ok. I know this will cause a lot of different opinions and that is what I want. I have a 1972 Zink that has a 1915cc pro-built engine with dual webers. It also has external cooler, big valve heads, counter balanced crank, forged pistons and the entire engine was balanced when built. I know this car ...

Re: New life for the FV Dvd

I have been given permission to film at Sebring this weekend. I am going on Sunday and get as much footage as I can. There are only 3 FV's registered and they may only run on Saturday so I am not sure how much I am going to get for the 4 hour round trip drive. I also have a gopro Hero camera so I wi...

Re: What kinda vee is this ???? HELP....

John, It looks like the front beam mounts to the frame the same way as the one on the photos I sent. There are different Zinks too. C4, C5 and soumeone said the early ones were Z4 cars. Those were the ones before they became Citations Zinks. I will see if I can dig up more photos.... When I will sen...

Re: What kinda vee is this ???? HELP....

Send me your email and I will forward some photos of a Zink frame. It is not mine but they are great shots. The biggest difference I see is that yours does not have the signature Zink oval hoop at the front to hold the nose together.

Re: What kinda vee is this ???? HELP....

I will pull the body off mine today and send some photos. The PO said he did not change the frame on the ZinK but who know what was done before. Some of thse cars are 40 years old and have had many owners. Just about everyone changes a little bit I guess. Glad you got it home. I may be interested in...

Sebring this weekend

Can some one log into the CFR SCCA entry database and see if there are any FV's signed up to run at the Double SARRC this weekend? I can only be there on Sunday the 8th so I hope I can find at least one VEE running.

Thanks.

Re: Anyone know what this is?

Bob,

JR just emailed and corrected my earlier message. The car was designed and build from scratch as The Illusion. Some of the features were similar to the Protoform Predator P2. The Illusion was a make and model in it's own right.

Re: Anyone taking a FV to Deland FL this weekend?

Scott, If the SCCA will let me film at Sebring, I will be there on Aug 8th. They are supposed to let me know this week. They have already said I can't film at Daytona due to NASCAR Licensing issues. I have to pay a License fee just like the Speed Channel and that is several thousand dollars. If I ca...

Re: How to get homebuilt frame thru tech?

Luckily, I found out who owned the car and they have the paperwork and logbook for it so I can get the roll bar re-stamped. I just have to figure out what I want to do with it.

Re: How to get homebuilt frame thru tech?

I saw that on the website. Why is that? I found out about the frame today from the previous owner. He has a ton of paperwork for the car and will give it to me when he gets home from Alaska. The car started out as a Protoform but he modified it a lot to fit him.
