AIM OIL Temp Sensor

Found a spare AIM Oil temp sensor. I don't have an AIM system anymore. Works as far as I know. Money back if it doesn't.

They are around $50 new. Yours for $20 + shipping.

Re: Front end spring mess

I would guess that you may simply need to rotate the turkey leg 90 degrees on the spring and then reassemble. You may have simply installed the turkey leg 90 degrees off on the spring.

You are way over thinking it. I won the NorPac division last year with -2. They work fine.

Here is another one:

When aligning the car, put some folded up black plastic trash bags under the tires. It allows them to move freely when adjusting the tow.

Re: -2 for front brake lines

When looking at the -2 fittings, the hole for the fluid passage is incredibly small...my concern is what steve originally stated - there would be a bit of a delay in pushing the fluid through that opening. With disc brakes I don't think it's a big deal, but with the volume of fluid that needs to be...

I have never seen this car, but the Engine, data system and tranny are worth the $6k asking price. Somebody is going to get a heck of a deal on a car for $6,000!

Re: -2 for front brake lines

Keith hit the nail on the head. Less fluid to compress is the reason.

I, personally, feel that is even more critical in a brake system pushing wheel cylinders.

YMMV. :-)

Re: -2 for front brake lines

I run -2 on all 4 wheels. (-3 on the clutch) It is the only way to go. Much better pedal feel.

The fittings are a little pricey, but I was able to get what I needed through Jim at SR. You'll want to go with the -2/-3 fittings. They are a -3 end with -2 internals. I have part numbers somewhere.

Newbie Tips - The little things

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread and have all the FV Vets post little tips. The purpose of the thread is so a newbie or even someone who has been in FV for a year or two can read through and pick out a couple ah-ha's. Maybe even some vets will see a couple good ideas. Here are a c...

Re: Different needle bearings on front beam

If you don't have a bearing puller, go get yourself a washer that is about 1 3/4". (Not sure the exact size - 45 mm maybe, don't have access to one right now.) Grind a flat spot on the side of the washer so it is shaped like a D - you don't need to grind off much, just enough to make it fit. Th...

Re: Midwest FV Drivers Association

I agree wityh Steve. Contact Scott Arthur or Bob Williams in at http://www.unionracing.ca Those two guys single handedly grew a series from a handful of cars to 10-15 consistently - sometimes as high as 20+, and an annual race that I expect to have 30+ cars participating in it in August. They run SC...

Re: Spec Tire Survey Results

Stephen, I think what you had stated earlier is that the R55B FV tire and the R60A CFF tire are made with the same chemical blend. Choose your wording carefully 8) I'd talk to Jeff Speer about R 70 VROCs Per Hoosier: "Again, there is no difference in your R55A and their R60A……… both ...

The R60 and R55 are the exact same compound according to Hoosier.

Not at all. A Vee uses such little power that an oil temp will certainly have no effect.

You just got an invitiation! :-)

As far as tires, there are no tire rules. You will have cars on AR's, Hoosiers, Goodyears and even treaded tires. Good mix overall.

Re: Tire Survey

VW offers a regional contigency as well. There were 238 regional races last year, I believe. There is $100 at stake for every one of those from VW for the winner of FV. That means $23,800 was at stake. If we *GUESS* that 75% of that was actually claimed, that means they paid out $17,850. I believe I...

Re: Tire Survey

If we do go to a spec tire (which personally I hope we don't) let's do it right. SM is on their third spec tire in as many years. We can't afford to make those type of mistakes. IMHO we should reward the suppliers who have been loyal to the class with at track support and contingencies if possible ...
