Re: Spec Tires

Ignorance then arrogance. So you saying everyone that does not agree with a Spec tire is Ignorant and arrogant? Now making claims about people you do not even know because they do not agree with your statements. In the modern world, virtually every form of racing uses a spec tire. SCCA club racing ...

Re: Spec Tires

Quick decision? Canadian FV racers realized that open tires on FV was a stupid idea in the 70s when it became apparent that buying tires every weekend was the thing to do. By 1980, they had found a suitable tire and wheel, tested them, and made them mandatory for 1981. That was over 30 years ago. N...

Re: Spec Tires

Brian says to write the CRB and ask them to reconsider. Follow the system. Well, the system has failed FV. We need the BOD to step in and get things done. ASAP! NOW! No time to waste! Write the BOD and demand action! So everyone that all ready voiced there opinion has to re send in there demand bec...

Maybe Nick won't show and I'll get it by default.

Re: Another head and neck restraint

Andy the only problem I see with this one is its kind of like the Defender. Where the belts go over your shoulders its pretty thick and with most formula cars being limited for space it will make it difficult to move your head and I know in my case would lift my head off my shoulders. I had to remov...

Re: Spec Tire Survey Results

Matt: You're correct about the gas situation, and I'm afraid it's heading above $4.00 per gal. based on the news reports. That along with other issue's will prevent additional drivers from racing as much as they would prefer. I'm spoiled because I have 3 tracks within 90 miles of my home (Nelson, M...

Re: Spec Tire Survey Results

Mike, I respect your attempt to direct us in the right direction and know that you, along with Greg, myself and most everyone want the best for the class. That being said, what are the possible changes you feel will improve the class and get more participation from those drivers who've parked their...

Re: Spec Tire Survey Results

Here is a thought, why don't we ask the CRB to start another new Class say Spec FV. We can have a spec tire, we can add all the weight we want, and make another rule adjustments deemed beneficial. If the new class works everyone will migrate to it. Hundreds of Garage Queens will come back, any thou...

Re: Spec Tire Survey Results

If you want to cut the current tire budgets down, simply request that Hoosier and GY stop making multiple compounds on mulitple size tires. That will solve a lot of the problems and still leave us with a fantastic tire and little downside risk. While you guys reply with the expected hate mail, I'll...

Re: Tire Survey

Travel and entry fees could be lowered by having every race weekend be a double race weekend. That would consolidate travel and entry fees into one. Crash damage could be lowered by approving new parts that are available at lower cost. Aftermarket spindles, etc. Thank you for clarifying that for me...

4-Of those items, which two expenses do you think could be best controlled or lowered with rule changes? Re: Tire Survey

I agree with Michael and John on the slanted survey outcome. As a result I chose NOT to post a response. Having raced FV for 30+ years these rants have been seen before and my question remains why. Percentage wise I don't think the tire equation and its relative cost has changed much in all the yea...
