Trailer Tires
I have 6 225/75/15 heavy duty trailer tires on 6 bolt wheels. Thzey are 3 yeaars old with good tread and would make great spares if they will fit your trailer. $10.00 each. I can deliver to Mid Ohio 9/6-7/08 or Road America 9/13/14/08 or Blackhawk farms 9/20/08 or road atlanta 11/0-8-9/08. Tires are...

Re: rear shock options
They look like the early Koni rears made for FV. If so they should have a part # that starts wit 80T-1869. these were sesigned for Z bar cars and are not valved for zero roll. If they are Koni's they may be rebuildable or have some value to a person restoring an vintage calwell or lynx with z bar. R...

Re: Low turnouts
Hey, I'm glad I can watch my SCCA buddies on speed at noon weekdays in November. I just don't think it gets new people to buy a car and come out and race with us. I also think It does me no good to put it in my sponsorship proposal to any Fortune 500 company. I still do not know any club racer that ...

Re: Low turnouts
I'll ask again. Is there anyone who reads this board that has got any sponsorship or in any way had there racing program helped in a financial way by having the runoff's televised? Obviously the only ones who watch are the participants and a few other bored in November SCCA members.

Re: Low turnouts
In the past Hoosier has made a hard compound tire that would hold up for 20 or so heat cycles. They called it the VROCK coumpound because a groupe of regional racers in the rocky mountain division asked for it and built a regional series aroud it. Other people also used it for its durability and som...

Re: Low turnouts
Many track days are run by busines people who are in it to make a profit and therefore want there customers(participants) to have a good time and come back again. SCCA regions are dependent on volunteers and are stretched thin to put on the events they have. Many regions rent out there services to o...

Re: Low turnouts
To me racing has always been about the compitition not the track time. The great thing about the FV class in the past was that with large fields there was always someone to race against and a personal goal to achieve if was winning or moving yourself from the back to the middle to the front. There i...

Re: Low turnouts
Racing for money onley makes sence if the money is coming from some source other than the competitors pockets. FV guys have never been impressed by money as exhibited in the many years the Pro Vee(Valvoline) series struggled for entries and only worked were national poiunts were also given. For year...

Re: Low turnouts
As Fv guys you can't depend on the regions to make things happen. You have to organize the people in the run group you would like to see and get them to turn out on a particular weekend. when you can assure a region of 15 Plus cars in your group you have some bargaining power for determining your ra...

The varous SCCA regions are sensitive to car counts and with the cost of track rental, insurance and all the other costs associated with putting on a race I understand where this is coming from. I also understand that if you can produce a large number of entries in your class you can use this senseti...

If you do not know the motion ratio you can post a picture of the Zero Roll kit. I may know what you need if it is one of the roughfly 200 kits we sold for zinks to convert them to zero roll. Others also made conversion kits some were copies of ours and some were different.

Re: Rear shock and spring help.
We have used a ARS shock for this purpose (non adjutable but revalveable) valved for a zero roll available from SR Racing/ Racecarsupply .com for aproximatly $225.00 with coil over hardware. You can use a 10 inch spring that will be easy to install available in several spring rates for about $60.00 ...

Re: Re-tire my Vee
I'm not sure about the CVAR vintage vee tire rule but if it is the same as monoposto you may use either dulap or hoosier. Both are expensive up front but Hoosier's will outlast dunlaps at least 2 to 1 so your per weekend costs will be supstantially lower. Hoosiers are available at http://www.racecar...

Arnie Carvel was a one tome owner of the shadowfax. Arnie was a long time FV guy from Colorado and had an association with Bob Lazier. It is posible he drove thew car while Arnie owned it. Peoble who needed FV stuff in those days were likely to find it in Arnie's barn. This was a precurser to the Ra...

The lynx/caracal c with zero roll may have been the first leading arm car. FRED clark may know more history. Those cars and kits also were put on earlier Lynx B's as zero roll conversions fro z bar cars.

Re: Revamped National Racing Program and Runoff???
I have two ideas of what the runoffs could be. 1. If it has to be one event under a similar format as the past It should be limited to as many classes as can be garunteed a regular 25 or 30 minuted practice/ qualifying session by themselves every day. theses classes ( Ibelieve it will be about 18) s...

Re: Zink help needed
The tail in your picture was an aftermarket unit and made to go with a cooling scoop used for ram air cooling. This is a chage in rules the SCCA made after zink went on to a new model. If you are returning this car to vintage and restoring the vintage legal fan cooling system you may want to buy a n...
