Re: Ackerman

You need to study ackerman first, just search it. Then you will understand the answer to your question better, which is that yes, you must modify something. It is the relationship of the steering arm, the tierods and the outer spindle that determine ackerman.

"When I get my SCCA Novice Permit, and without having taken a school, when am I allowed to drive the car on the track? Can I run lap days or ?" Jim, you will not be able to enter a race until you have the school completed. There are "Time trials" often held in conjunction with a ...

Re: 2017 NE Drivers Schools Schedule

New England Region website:

https://www.ner.org/

Upcoming events on the right side and a club racing schedule under "Club Racing"

I do not see a school listed, but wait for a NE member to chime in.

What information, other than a school do you need?

Just keep your eyes open as there are cars sold in that range occasionally. I have seen some decent looking cars for 5k on occasion.

Read through all the information here. Just about every question has been asked and answered.
Good luck!

Re: FV future #1 steering rack

Being a tall driver, and having wrestled with the issue, I don't see any answer for this in the steering box / rack. The max wheelbase is the issue. IF you max every bit of space available then the max wheelbase will allow a 6'4" driver of normal leg/torso length to fit. Barely. Add a couple in...

An alternative spec wheel, one off the shelf, would eliminate the issue.

Re: *Official FV Runoffs Thread - 2016*

Hi Stevan,

Thanks for the news. Our club seems to be short on providing anything other than the results as far as I can tell. I did not know there were only 5 laps at speed.
Hope you can find time to post up at the end of the day, and
Good luck tomorrow!

James, thanks for looking.

I thought the roll bar # to be the logbook number, not a VIN #, and I think 03 is the Atlanta region.

Re: Another vee that needs identified

Actually, I think Agitator, not predator due to what Steve said. The first Agitators had the cooling ducted like this is shown. I do not have any pictures showing the framework of the Agitators however to compare with.

I sent James a link to this.

Re: Another vee that needs identified

I'm not the definitive answer, so take it for what it's worth.

Looks like a homebuilt or a very modified predator chassis. I think the modified is a real long shot. I'm just comparing it to pictures I have collected.

It is an interesting car though.

Re: Shock ID

looks like good work. I'm sure Dietmar can fix you up with a heim joint "kit". I'm also inclined to cross bolt the new link to keep from doing any heat damage to the new joints. Very common. I don't know why anyone welds these but I have seen pics of welded joints. You can get the correct ...

Re: Help me identify this vee

maybe the rear end (with the yellow shocks) were never on this car to begin with... That would be my guess. The shocks are mounted to the original VW mounts and that is typically cut/ground off. That tranny might not even have the ring gear reversed... You car has the links attached to the trailing...
