The safety solutions hybrid pro rage is great, they are now owned by Simpson. http://simpsonraceproducts.com/simpson-performance-products-acquires-safety-solutions-inc/ Hans offers great front and back protection, but no additional side protection. The hybrid pro also offers good side protection and...

I hope one of our suppliers start to carry Safety Solutions products also... hint hint... A lot of the other Formula class guys are running the Safety Solutions Hybrid Pro Rage. I've used the Purple leaded for the last few years. It comes in 5 gallon drums, $70 in the Danbury CT area, not cheap. http://www.sunocoinc.com/site/Consumer/RaceFuels/TraditionalFuels/ http://www.sunocoinc.com/NR/rdonlyres/EB891027-F613-4B4C-A3CF-A2A4CEAB21CD/923/traditional2.jpg Not sure of your n...

Re: Bolt on valve covers
I think the same accident that could knock an old school cover off would crack open a new style cover anyway. In either case you still get oil on the track but you might have a little less with the new style . It makes a lot of sense in Solo racing since it's really hard for a cone to crack a valve ...

You just need the typical dual return springs we already use on Vees for a push/pull cable.

Re: Throttle return spring examples
You might want to check out your throttle cable. If it has too much resistance or it's old you should replace it. Just my opinion but controlling the throttle of a race car with a bicycle type cable doesn't sound or feel safe. Over time they tend to wear and in some cases fray or rust on the inside....

RIMS????
Any tips on a good source for straight slotted rims??? I've called around and can't find any for sale. I have about 20 in my garage that are either rusted and badly pitted or wobble like crazy. Maybe its about time we propose a new rule to allow alternative rims??? GCR "replacement parts must b...

Re: Wobble?
If everything is tight, no slop in the steering or linkage, shocks are smooth with no dead spots and the wheel bearing are adjusted correctly, it might be your rims and tires. Did the wobble start and end at the same speed? Did you try swapping out the tires?

Re: Header / Advice Needed
Midasize it!!!! Your best bet and least expensive solution if you can't weld it up is to take the exhaust off and take it to your local muffler shop for a quick patch/repair. Since you're getting a new set... it will not matter much since the local shop will probably "Frankenstein" it but ...

Re: Rear axle bearing seals
If you're refering to #7, some people might feel it's over kill, but anytime you disassemble the housing, I'd change the seals. The kits go for $2.50 per side... and they are really not that hard to install.
