Type 4 Street Engine

I am trying to buy some parts from a guy with some old solo modified car. I need to take the 1.7 L Type 4 engine in order to get the rest of it. The engine is running and is carbs to clutch. If anybody is interested in having the engine for several hundred dollars, please let me know. It would be in...

If anyone on the Eastern half of the continent is looking for someone to convert a FV to FST, build up a FV/FST kit, or refurbish a Formula car, I have an open space in my schedule and could start ASAP. Please contact me. Thanks, Greg.

Fox40 and Rice Confirmed for ARRC

I was not going. Not in the budget. Never was. After winning all those FCM FST races over the past 3 years, I was going to have to miss this one. Well, sponsors and supporters have stepped up at the 11th hour to get me there. Fox40 has signed up as major sponsor for this event. They make whistles an...

Re: Complete newb

I would like to add to Daves comments. It is a buyers market right now. You can buy good cars for half of the price of the replacement parts. You can buy not-so-great cars for much less than that. There is so much to learn as a newbie, that building your first car does not need to be one of them. If...

My car is on FIRE!

I arrived home to a frantic wife who had just discovered my race car burning in the garage. 8" flames from the dash of the unattended race car that had last been touched about 20 hours before. She had been in the garage 20 mins before without drama but returned to get dinner out of the freezer....

Great Pumpkin Affair Cancellation Written by Dale Kunze Monday, 11 August 2008 17:07 THE GREAT PUMPKIN will NOT be making his 39th Annual visit to NELSON LEDGES this October. Re: SEDiv (SARRC) FV Drivers

Excellent job Lee!

All is needed is for a few people to say "We need to make this happen!" instead of "it will never work" or "it is not feasible" or "we do not want to upset the tire companies".

Great leadership!!!!!

Thankyou!

Keep up the great work!

Re: trailing or leading arm rear suspension?

If one wants to tune those "secondary reactions" as a performance tool, it is probably easier with the rear arms.

When was the last time a FV with forward arms won the Runoffs. Why is that .... I wonder.

Re: Any Nelson Ledges Info?

I kinda talked to Carrie last weekend. Carrie is McGuill's daughter and has been half of the track management team for about 5 years. They are under a gag order because of a confidentiality agreement that is in place. She is not talking. The PA announcement team was promoting the 24 hour race but no...

Re: Low turnouts

One bonus of spec tires .... for those that like to tune our cars handling. Without the constant tire degradation, your car is much more likely to handle the same most laps of most sessions. You can actually tune the car and develop/evolve performance improvements because of a much more consistant h...

Re: Low turnouts

There seems to be so much misinformation about spec tire use. I have raced with spec tires in FV and FF in Canada. Both classes were "saved" after approaching extinction levels. The FST spec tire (Hoosier 60A) that is also used by many CFF groups is just an outstanding tire that has unnoti...

Re: Low turnouts

Question to the Committee: There was a passionate and constructive discussion about spec tire options on this forum last year. Why was that abandoned? Or was it? Any input (about FV in general) that may come in now has certainly been discussed over and over for the past 5+ years. Creating viable pla...

Just Like Vee Racing! I spend alot of time talking to people about the class, particularily the differences. I am posting a link to a video from our recent race at Grattan. It does a pretty good job of showing that the "on track" characteristics are the same as FV. We all struggle with low...

Re: Bolt on quick steer spindle kits

Why must you have bolt-on spindle kits? While the concept is very creative, I think you will find that most of us have found that properly fabricated custom spindles are preferable. I do not know anyone who did not get better braking performance with fabricated spindles. Somebody like Steve Pastore ...

I have a good understanding of the various fuel issues but have yet to hear a solution that would "fix" the problems for the various classes. I was talking to one of the circle-track guys at work who was moaning and groaning about the $1900 worth of fuel he had just bought for his Modified...

Chris, I would certainly take Dietmar up on his offer of assistance. I do recall trying to replace the old hardware (3 backing plate bolts) on a car and having a clearance issue. My spiffy new blue hardware (particularily the lockwasher) was quite a bit beefier than the original VW hardware. In my c...
