$400 for 1lbs is crazy the both function the exact same from what I'm told. $400 can be spent it other places.

Re: D-13 Body Mold
Mark, It's a two piece mold, slit down the middle. I would pick up 20-30 C-clamps from Harbor Freight and assemble it, using filler in the seam. If done with a little care, you will produce a very nice panel. It's been some years since I popped a panel but the process doesn't change. Use fresh mate...

Re: D-13 Body Mold
Dave Kazmierczak make 3 piece mid section as well as tails and noses still. Not sure how much lighter you can make it unless it was Carbon but at that point why? I'm only 90lbs over so it's just gonna make me diet. if your under 195 you should not be that far off in a D13 unless you 4" frame tu...

Re: Av gas
It's a liability for the company selling the av fuel to put it in cans because they could be contaminated and could cause a aircraft to crash if it's put in a aircraft, that's why most companies will not sell unless they have reg numbers of a plane showing that it went from the fuel truck to the air...

Re: Minimum Weight Survey
I am a driver who is 250lbs now and I was 275lbs when I purchase my Vee in 8/09. Being way over weight does 2 positive things for me. 1st I have the motivation now to loose some lbs and get in better shape to live longer. 2nd it will force me to drive that much better. I realize some drivers that ar...

Re: Oil temp warning light with oil temp gauge
[quote][The plug on the front of the engine is the one I was talking about, the one on the side used for oil pressure is awfully small. Didn't know if you had the one in the front drilled or if it was in use for something, that's where I return the oil from the cooler. If you have it blocked off, yo...

That is a pretty cool gaugeneilcox wrote:Look at this http://www.fwmurphy.com/20t_25t/
this gauge has a limit switch that can be set for a specific temp to power a light. I have used these and they are good to great gauges.

Re: Oil temp warning light with oil temp gauge
cool thanks I was going to run a T with both senders but the really would not be in oil flow so I would rather not run a t fitting. My engine is set up with the SR block and stock cooler but I don't have extra hole. There is a spot next to the distributor. There is one on the side of the block next ...

Re: Oil temp warning light with oil temp gauge
The warning light only goes on when there is something wrong it should be distracting.Dave wrote:The light can be kind of distracting I just use a gauge, and if it gets to hot you fix it by putting a piece of race tape over it.

Re: Oil temp warning light with oil temp gauge
[quote]Go to Summit racing on line and research the temp light. They have tons of stuff and the prices are quite reasonable. They also ship same day. Warning lights are a good idea thats why all the data systems have them. Years ago, we had a driver that had such a hard time remembering to look at g...

Re: Oil temp warning light with oil temp gauge
I have a temp gauge and have the sender in the place where most everyone puts it (front lower right of the block) I need to find a spot for a second sender. If you can't scan your gauges at least once a lap or so, you need to get more comfortable driving. I want to put the gauge in a place so it is ...

I used a bench grinder with a wire wheel on it, that way the spring is not changed in anyway. then I just used Krylon tough coat primer and paint. They look like new springs for about 1 hour of time and $8 in paint.
