Re: Exclusive FVee Race in Mission BC Canada

I was the lone non-Canadian entrant at last year's inaugural race and it was a memorable weekend. Great track, great people,a pig roast Sat. night and HOURS of track time. This year about a half dozen of us from the northwest are planning on attending to support the fantastic resurgence in vee racing...

Re: "skid" plates

When I used an aluminum tray under the engine the sump nut would bow out the tray slightly when dzused in place. If the sump projects further than that, the sump on your engine is deeper. I never had problems with the shorter sump. If you change to a shorter sump, adjust your pickup length. Use a slas...

Re: "skid" plates

Tiago I put over 300 races on that car before you got it and only once found the sump nut scuffed. Not an issue.

Re: Startting from Scratch - FV or FST?

Michael's (Speedsport) post is on point with mine. I wouldn't discourage anyone's effort in fst,nor is it about a rookie passing an old hand in fv. It's about a faster and out of class car assuming it's ok to search out competition in the form of other classes in the same racegroup. It's ok for a ne...

Re: Startting from Scratch - FV or FST?

Most established racers recall their mentors early on,and would agree that their continuation in a class was in large part due to the help in advancing the car and their driving skills. Pick the class with drivers who'll help you,and be aware that no fv drivers will appreciate a fst attempting to ra...

Re: VDO tach problem

VDO tachs are notorious for losing their dampening allowing the needle to waver at higher rpms.If this is your problem,I have sent several to VDO for repair and haven't been charged. They were very cooperative and quick.

Re: Questions for SCCA FV Survey

Brian's suggestion of survey questions other than this absurdly focused manifold issue is not only well conceived, but could point out in quantifiable terms that other issues are more timely. If the survey is limited to "about 4" questions, press your luck and add a fifth re spec tires too se...

Re: My letter about the FV spec intake

I've fielded a national effort in fv for 30 years for myself and 18 years for my son Quinn and have bought a total of 3 manifolds, two of which I'm still using. I'm happy with their perrformance and hope to use them for the foreseable future unless someone ("I'm here from the government and I'm ...

Re: Setup baseline help Protoform P2

I've had a P2 for 6 years and have found it to be a great handling car, better than the P3 of my son Quinn's(who still finishes ahead of me...). I use these numbers: Front camber 1.2 degrees front toe 3/32 in factory caster soft bump, moderate rebound ft shocks 185# rear spring 4.5 degrees rear camber...

In reply to Brian's request for justification of the 4/01/09 effective date, the response is "the problem became evident at the runoffs". I ask what problem, how did it become evident, and to whom? Once this is established, I'd like to know what requisite degree of "urgency" is ampl...

Re: Dick Renard Racing - Fox Cars RE-3

These cars were built in the early eighties and few were sold. One ran in Portland and Seattle in about 1985-86 owned by a Richard Phillips who immediately ran front row times. We were quite impressed until one of our group,Clayton Sturge, stopped by and took a look at what proved to be a 1300cc moto...
