Re: Double national at COTA

Perhaps an over-reaction .... perhaps an appropriate reaction. Time will tell. It seems a hasty response to change around a date that has been established for decades!

There certainly will not be many out-of-division travellers if they run the National in May.

Thankyou for the updated information.

Re: Double national at COTA

Now I hear March Double National at Road Atlanta is a Double Regional. That will change the plans if a lot of travellers who make Road Atlanta their season opener. Not many will travel there in May when racing has begun at home. Takes away the COTA-RA back to back option for those interested. Anybod...

That was Roger's first weekend in the Mysterian.
Hoosier and Goodyear were pretty even.
Eugene was in some greenish D-13.

Re: remember "Pro Vee"?

I actually have a video of this race which was I believe shot by Doug Seim. Greg Rice ended up winning the race after Allen hit the wall. Everyone close to crash felt that Allan's rear brake drum cracked and caused the crash. Not a place for FV with those concrete walls. That was Allen's explanatio...

Re: Double national at COTA

I see other sites discussing an event on Feb 22-24. The March date would work in nicely with the March Double National at Road Atlanta.
Anybody who knows, please update.

Re: Front Motor Mount

I know there have been zillions of cars with front engine mounts and many recommend keeping the bolt loose to prevent engine binding. Many years ago, during testing of an aircraft conversion of a vw motor, we learned that thermal expansion on an anchored motor would cause binding on a dyno. I would...

Re: Front spring

Greg, Sorry, I think you need to fix a problem. That linkage has been adequate on hundreds of cars for 35-40 yrs. If you rebuild your linkage, you will likely fix your real problem, whether you determine it in the process, or not. I think that is never a bad move. I would just weld in CM tubing rath...

Re: Replay XD camera kit NEW blow out price!

The transaction with Mark was seamless. Camera works great. Having it on the cowl, in drivers view and within reach, means we get video much more often than with previous applications. Also reduces editing time as the driver can "edit" on the fly. This camera is not HD, but still good enou...

Re: Front spring

modify my shift linkage by replacing the steel sections with aluminum tubing to lessen the inertia forces from the weight of the stock linkage. I have never heard this theory before. If a car ever came into my shop with aluminum tube in the shifter linkage, I would replace it with chrome-moly tube,...

Re: Front spring

Many race cars run skid plates or blocks to protect the chassis when bottoming. I have seen D-13s with steel sheet panels riveted onto the front bulkhead. You could also install bump rubbers on the shocks to ease the bottoming. If you run quality front shocks (penske or fox) you could try raising th...

Greg, You are always calling for innovative ideas for growth. Get out from behind the keyboard and do something. Instead of insulting those of us who have a different feeling than you, try starting a revolution. Come up with your own ideas to solve problems and lead. Stop with the insults and blame...

Steve, If you have a way to attract a couple hundred newbies to $23K FVs with CF whizzy bits, then please do so. You're struggling to find one. I would prefer we try to attract newbies to $5-10K Fvs without whizzy CF bits. ... says the guy selling a wrecked, carbon fiber-bodied Womer for almost dou...

Re: Wheel cover ban

"FV was not on its deathbed at that time" When did this event occur? FV was the second largest class at the Runoff, the third in Nationals, and seventh Regionally. I could paraphrase Mark Twain, the story of FV's demise is slightly exaggerated. Perception, seems to be viewed very differen...

Stephen. Waste our time with nonsense. I never said anybody was cheating. I said I was not. Innovate this: 12 entries to the Glen driving school this weekend. 6 SMs 2 ITA 2 SRF 1 FF 1 T2 The Glen used to be one of the stongest FV areas. How will wheel covers or rehashing intake manifolds help attrac...

BTW ...... Mike K, as any of the manifold makers, was quite capable of making monster mannies before there was such a scam. He chose not to. He was servicing the FV community, not screwing it! Chuck Brewer had similiar fibreglass covers on his car almost 2 decades ago. He must be the "genious". 8) I agree with Dave S. Wheel covers do absolutely nothing to enhance the FV experience for FV racers in any way what so ever. It has nothing to do with them being legal or not. Make them...
