Re: Legal Engine quesions

I read that several times earlier in the week and now I see 1 small but significant item I missed. In several places it clearly states TYPE 1. Where I got confused is the section that says the pistons, cylinders, heads, block and a bunch of other things could be from another manufacturer as long as ...

Yet another Transaxle Question

Is any swing axle transaxle legal as long as it has legal gearing? I.E. can i use a transaxle from a Type 1 2 or 3 as long as it is swingaxle and not IRS? Also.. I saw a 68 Type 1 that was Swingaxle but I read somewhere that only 61-67 transaxles could be used. I read in an different thread about us...

Re: Legal Engine quesions

Thanks Jim. Glad I read this before I headed out to the swap meet. I would have bought a bunch of useless stuff. I think I got it now. Pretty much stock parts but you can tweak them to a certain degree! Thanks again for the help.

Legal Engine quesions

Putting all the parts together to build a Legal Vintage FV engine and as usual, I need advise. If I use a universal case and 1200 cylinders, how much of the cylinder do I have to shave off to get the correct deck height since the 1200 block is narrower than the universal case (or any case except the...

Re: 1970 Zeitler Super Vee restoration

I have started a Zeitler Formula website and would be happy to add your car to the site. I just bought a Zeitler FV and am in the same situation you are. I am going to try and get as many Zeitler FV and FSV cars listed as I can. Here is the site. http://www.zeitlerformularacing.com Thanks. Roger

Re: My new/old 1969 Zeitler FV

Yep... Sure looks a lot like mine! I will keep an eye on your progress. All I have done is managed to get most of it out of the back of my Suburban. I still don't have a place in my garage yet. I have to sell my 1956 Belair Beauville wagon to make room. In the meantime... the frame will go to the ba...

Re: Newbee with an Oldee

Dietmar. Thanks for all that great info. I see a lot of messages thanking you for help and info. I can see why! Add another Kudos from me. A lot makes sense now. O-rings... Didn't think about that! Back in the mid 60's I built VW's. I had a buggy and one of the first Kelmark GT kitcars. Then I went ...

Newbee with an Oldee

I am new at this so I hope I don't become a pain. I bought a 1969 Zeitler basket case and I am going to put it back to original but need help. I understand you can use any engine case and I think the later 1600 dual oil cases or a new case would be better. How do you put 1200CC cylinders in a case c...

My new/old 1969 Zeitler FV

I'm a newbee and just wanted to hi to everyone. I just bought a 69 Zeitler basket-case. I have it's history back to the early 70's/ It has run at Daytona, Sebring, VIR, Summit Point and a few other NE tracks. Most of it's life it was in the Washington DC/VA/NC regions and won a few Regionals and ent...

Re: 1982 Morton Vogan 1st autoX

Nice job on the autocross. Do you run with CFR or Martin? I just bought a 1969 Zeitler basketcase and want to run a few autocrosses before I restore it back to Vintage. I am in Orlando. Where are you going to run the next time? I would like to see your car. Thanks. Roger
