Re: November minutes
I, for one, would love to see our FV morph into a similar spec as seen throughout the rest of the world. If we had specs similar to our Canadian brethren, maybe we could entice some of them down to the lower 48 on occasion. I fully support our class but feel that it may be time to consider moving aw...

Re: WTB Vintage Formula Vee
Jim, I look at your site every day for new entries and/or updates. The cars that I would be interested in appear to have been posted back in 2010. Would you know if these postings remain viable?

Re: Unleaded Gas
Another important item to take into account that could destroy your fuel cell and other components of the fuel delivery system is the blending of ethanol in street fuels. Here in Florida, it is required by state law that all pump gas contain up to 10% ethanol. 10% may not sound like much, but if unl...

Re: My letter about the FV spec intake
The comments from John are appreciated and hold a great deal of credibility and food for thought. In most forms of "spec" racing (yes, I know that we're not considered "spec", but the engine component of our total package is probably as close to spec as we can get) the common den...

To all in the FV Community - Ask youselves this question: What do a parachute and your mind have in common? Answer - They both have to be open to be effective!!!!! We can "what if" our selves to death for absolutely no reason. The generosity of those who have taken on the recon task, I can...

Re: SRF vs VEE
Brian, With all due respect, your comments about "sending us packing" are disturbing and frankly insulting. I, too, have been on the receiving end (twice) of an overly aggressive Spec Wrecker Ford. It is this kind of attitude that pushes us "amateur" racers away from being a part...

Re: Fire Suit question
Get the best fire suit that you can afford. Back in the days when your vintage car was state-of-the-art, those guys wore the best that was available. Believe it or not, fire is just as hot and deadly today as it was back then. However, we are all the benefactors of superb technology and have a great...

Re: fire system question - VSCDA
If you follow the SCCA rules - minimum 5lb system either Halon or the new E36 - you'll be in compliance wherever you go. One thing to contemplate - Should you find yourself in the unfortunate situation that you are in a burning car, don't sit there wishing you had those 3 extra pounds of fire retard...

Rhino Case
Before I plunk down my money, could someone tell me if the Rhino transmission case is legal in SCCA? Also, I have seen after- market heavyduty side plates for sale. Are these legal and/or are they worth the money for a FV? Thanks everyone.

In my humble opinion, I would recommend T-6, .060 minimum for the floor pan. I just did my car in .060, 340 stainless. The choice is yours.

Re: King Pin Replacement
Deitmar, I am actually just doing a complete rebuild of the front suspension. The car has been raced since 1993 and a complete restoration/renewal is underway. I have access to a complete machine shop, so if you have suggestions, I'm all ears. The old bushings and kingpin were somewhat loose, by the...

I am replacing the kingpin and bushings on my front suspension. Any guidance, advice, tricks-of-the-trade will be sincerely accepted. I am not a novice to the work, but I am a virgin to VW link pin suspension.
