thanks - picked up the D-13 last weekend - excited for next season!
Thinking it will not be car number 13 anymore - that's proven not to be a very lucky number.

Back to the fold
Well after two years of Formula First looks like I'll be back with FV in 2012. I really enjoyed the FST cars and the drivers, but for a variety of reasons it makes sense for me to return to FV

So what is the difference between 55A and R55?Speedsport wrote:Bob Stack wrote:Keep in mind these are the R55 compund, not the 55A. The 55A is what everyone has been using for the past 2 years, so any fronts you bought recently would not match. But for general seat time and / or learning a new track, they would be fine.

Re: Discounted Hoosiers
I noticed on Hoosier's web site they have some older short FV rears (21.5 x 5.5 x 15) in the R55 compound for sale for only $65 each plus free shipping. They are not the current 55A compound, but still a good tire. Could be a good deal for someone. I don't want to be dumb but I've been to their sit...

Once again, I'm Thankful that I live in a country, where, no matter how screwed up it is, we have the right to complain about it without fear. I'm Thankful for family that I don't deserve, and the abilty to earn a living and keep food on the table and a roof over our heads. I'mThankful for old frien...

Re: How to put a value on a box van?
Bob, Oh, I see. Your clients don't have much money so you maybe take stuff, kinda like the barter system of old that doctors and lawyers used to do. So am I to assume then with economy being what it is, in the future you will be taking in quantities of chickens and such. Well I guess that would not...

Re: How to put a value on a box van?
Bob, Since you mentioned it, I'll comment about the idea of turning the truck into a bunkhouse. Years ago, a friend had an aluminum sided cargo truck and in cold weather that thing would just suck the heat out of you. This probably doesn't have the aluminum siding, but probably will not retain heat...

How to put a value on a box van?
Client wants to trade me a 1995 GMC G3500 14' box van (125K miles, average condition, and yes, it's yellow) for professional services. I can't seem to find any values for box vans in Kelly Blue Book or NADA. Any thoughts on where to look for a value? FYI - I don't really need a box van to pull my li...

? huh? Wouldn't the data get all scrambled up? I thought that was the reason for different channels? It turns out Roemer had a PI 2 on his old car and the guy who bought that car changed to AIM, so it looks like I may have found the transmitter beacon I need. I wasn't going to bother getting into da...

WTB - PI S/2 Transmitting Beacon
I just acquired a used PI System 2 dash and related, but it appears I still need to get a transmitting beacon. Looks like a new one is pretty pricy (at the cost of a new one it makes more sense to switch over to thier GPS system instead of the beacons) If anyone has a transmitting beacon that they c...

Come on Bob, its not that much work. Ask Bruce, about 2 years ago I would do a gearbox change just about every race weekend.... at the track.... between qualifying and the race.... My point is once you learn the car and make things accessible and easy to work with, its not that much work... just th...

Re: Long box or short box - if you could only have one?
Thanks for all the thoughts. Guess I'll have to give it some more thought. The idea of staying away from RA is both appealing (it's a daunting track at this stage) and disappointing (it's RA for crying out loud!) but an option to consider. At least I have a few months to decide. I suppose the learni...

Long box or short box - if you could only have one?
As a matter of curiosty, if you could only have one trans (or more honestly were too lazy or scared to swap back and forth) which would you choose - long box or short box. I'll be running at Road America (looong box track) and Blackhawk Farms (shortbox track I guess, 1.9 miles, lots of turns). I see...
