Re: July minutes

As a note of reference, the CRB also forgot to put ANY technical specifications on the disc brake components to be used with the ball joint beam. From my reading, the are 100% free. A major problem if left to pass into the rules. Add 9.1.1.C.3.A.12: 12. VW Type 1 ball joint front suspensions may be ...

Hey Mark,

Do you (or anyone else reading this board) have any idea where one could buy Canadian boner pills without a prescription?

Gee, if I just knew where I could go.

Re: Going FST vs FV Racing

Yes, but not impossible, just expensive to buy new.

I've been using the AS 21 (vs. the much more common AS 41). It's a much better/stronger case.

Re: August Minutes

OK, I'll agree that simply mounting a prepped beam takes 10 minutes (LP or BJ). Four bolts (in most applications) and it's mounted. What happens next is so vary dependent on the individual. So I hope it's agreeable that at record pace it could take 10 minutes and from that point, it could go as long...

Really, did I? I must have been really high on crack as I just can't remember ever quoting the install of a beam assembly at 10 minutes or any minutes for that fact. I really need to lay off the pipe.

Re: August Minutes

If the CRB decides to pursue this proposal, it must be put out for membership input for 30 days. This is required for all rule changes. Given the 2014 rule change season closes on October 1, it's not likely we'll see this change before 2015.The October date has been in effect for many years to prov...

Re: August Minutes

I was wondering if these 2 braces could be removed off the BJ beam and replaced with braces with LP beam hole spacing so that there is not a need to modify the chassis on most cars. Mark, Why not just drill (2) 1/2" dia holes in the BJ beam brackets to give it a LP mounting pattern. This is a ...

Nationals/Regionals are gone at the end of this season. SCCA Club Racing will consist of Majors and Divisionals. Both provide a path to the Runoffs.

Mark,

I don't understand your post at all.

"I" had nothing to do with the creation. It was the effort of a group of people. Attitude has no bearing on FV (or any other class status).

Re: Just don't get it!

I, for one, would be in favor of referring to the Canadian, European, Australian vehicle spec. Would it ever be possible for the USA to transition to their vehicle specs? As Greg correctly put it, that time passed about 10 years ago. The exception being the Canadian standard. For the most part, it ...

Speaking as a 20 year guy in FV and 10 year guy in FST, Mark's statement is spot on. There is no good "partial" anything. Either take the plunge or don't. FV's best path is to stay the course.

Dry sump for FV: Great idea, would help FV lower end bearings last WAY longer. The common system used in that other VW AC class has been around for 40+ years, bolts in and would cost less that $500 for DIY types. Only one catch, it will NEVER happen in FV. I'll repeat, It will NEVER happen in FV. Pl...

Does anyone know when the hammerhead nose started replacing the narrow nose on Lynx B's? Seems like these type historical questions quickly get derailed from the original thread.
