Re: D-13 Vintage?
Hi, I'm selling my D-13 and I've received a few questions about vintage racing it. I have no real history on the car, I only have the log book that was issued 7/78. I've read in this forum that the D-13 qualifies for the VRG group, any others??? Thanks for any feed back. From the VRG website: B8: F...

Steve, If you have a way to attract a couple hundred newbies to $23K FVs with CF whizzy bits, then please do so. You're struggling to find one. I would prefer we try to attract newbies to $5-10K Fvs without whizzy CF bits. ... says the guy selling a wrecked, carbon fiber-bodied Womer for almost dou...

I believe there was a fairly large number of drivers from the west coast at Roebling for the 45th birthday party in 2008. Seemed like more from there than from the northeast.

Mark,
The entry list also had a Jerry Hansen in a Formcar numbered 44. I assume that is the Jerry Hansen that won numerous SCCA national championships. The timing charts show he only did eight laps but had the 3rd fastest time.

While I was Google mapping in Iowa, I came across what looked like a road course. Turned out to be Greenwood Roadway, which is a ghost track in Indianola, Iowa used as a heavy equipment training center now. However, I did find some photos from a USRRC event in July of 1964 which featured a Formula V...

Is there a parallax issue with the pictures or does the car not meet 9.4.5.B on page 111 of the GCR for the Front Hoop? Front Hoop Low front hoops must be no lower than the top of the steering wheel. It is recommended the hoop extend to the belly pan. If not, it shall be attached to the chassis with...

They refilled my bottle in 2008. I sent the empty bottle through the post office. I don't remember the price, but that shouldn't be hard to find.

Re: Startting from Scratch - FV or FST?
The rules may be written that way but as a racing driver you are driven to find a edge and to win either with your driving ability or by making the car better. People will always find holes in the rules and get quicker and that knowledge will cost money wether it cost $5 or $5000 racers will pay fo...

Re: Startting from Scratch - FV or FST?
I also think if FST was a national class it wouldn't take long for cost to drive up. Racers will want to go faster and will be willing to pay more within then rules for a engine builder or a chassis manufacture to find more. I'm sure when FV started 40+ years ago everyone "it's a very inexpens...

May be too early in the process to think about cars, but Ski Motorsports rents a Womer. There are two available in the northeast that are pretty good deals. http://www.apexspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42750 http://www.apexspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40392 Ed Womer lives near DC and is gre...

I doubt that anyone that has dealt with Dave Carr or Steve Pastore is too surprised. They're both huge assets to Formula Vee.

The promoter, Tavo Hellmund, was on Wind Tunnel with Dave Dispain 2 weeks ago. His father was a close friend of Bernie Eccelstone and he has known Eccelstone his whole life. Bernie has been talking to this guy since the 1990's about doing F1 in the US, and around 2005 they got serious about it. When...

John,
I have emailed the seller. He's a muscle car guy, not a road racer. Pretty sure he's selling a Kellison with a modified body.

Re: Need opinion on car to use for drivers school
You need an SCCA legal car. You need a log book and homologation certificate for the class you're going to enter the car. As a Formula Vee it would not need homo cert if it was built before a certain year (1978? 1981? Check the GCR.) But if you try to run it in FS you're going to need dual homologat...

With the SARRC and ProVee stickers on it, it has probably raced. You might send the pictures to Fred Clark at Caracal. He may recognize it. His email contact here-

In the time it takes to figure out how to do it without removing the head, you could probably remove the head, take your measurements and replace the head.
