Re: LRE Gear Box

Bump, this is still available. It has almost been sold a couple of times, but never quite completed the deal.

(SOLD) LRE Gear Box

New LRE built box, just picked up from LRE in February. This box has never been used, it still has the "NO OIL" tag attached. I gave LRE a non race box and said do your thing. I have a 3 page invoice listing all the new parts, bushings, welding they performed. Bob said they were very happy...

Re: Setting the engine height

Well we are not having much success with this approach, so lets try a differnt angle. Can anyone running a Vintage Vee measure the hight of the tires. If I know the average tire height I can set the engine to have 0 camber at full suspension travel with the smallest tire.

Re: Setting the engine height

Thanks for the reply Steve. I have good sump protection, check out the picture. There must be a base axle height people use when building frames?

Setting the engine height

Work is progressing well and it time to make the rear engine mounting cradle/frame. I need to know how high to set the engine. I am planning on installing the engine/trans at a level angle. I watched the Andy Goodall Youtube video and he recommends that the center of the drive shaft should be 230mm ...

Forward or backwards?

How do I tell is my transmission has been switched to run in the mid engine configuration? I am not sure if the transmission I have has ever been used in a race car. I don't think it has, so the next question is; does anyone know a link to good direction on how to swap it over?

Thanks

Re: Restoration Project

So after meeting a lot of people at the Autobahn event I have decided to restore the car to Vintage spec, rather than AutoX spec. I think the cost is going to be about the same. I will not have to swap to disk brakes and upgrade the rack, but I will have to spend more on the motor. That has been my ...

Re: The start of a project

To the people that have sent me private messages, thanks. I have replied but they are stuck in my outbox. Just getting to be a member of this forum has been a major undertaking, taken 2 weeks and numerous emails.

Re: The start of a project

I am fairy sure it's not a Zink, the last owner had a couple of Zink's and they were quite different.

The start of a project

Starting with identification Can anyone help me work out that this is, it's very nicely built. Condition is poor but it's a start. I am planning on extensive modification but really wanted to know what I have before I start. I looked for any marking on the chassis but found none. The chassis current...
