Re: Help me identify this vee
Looks like the bodywork is homemade............ But the Frame may be a Zink C4 based on the multi tube frame, Rollbar construction, attachment of the trailing arms and especially the look of the trapezoid rear subframe laying on the ground in the foreground of pic #1...

Re: Zink C4 restoration-the long term project
George.. I haven't checked on your progress recently...... and now that I'm looking I see your photos & notes about repairing the twist in the Chassis.... That clinches it ! I 'm sure this is my old C-4.. I got knocked on my head at a race at Nelson Ledges in 1984 ( I think )... got some major r...

Re: Carrera shock replacement question
+ 1 on what Barry says too. I've been using the bus/transporter steering dampers for years.... They don't last forever... but at the price you can get em at !!!!! who cares. ( sure beats several hundred $$ a corner) If you Google VW bus steering stabilizer you get https://www.google.com/#q=vw+bus+st...

Re: Autumn Challenge Cup format change
Sounds OK to me. Some people just race at regionals... but have National licenses... and giving rookies an adjustment in the points can only encourage turnout.
The idea of this fall series is new... so adjustments on-the-fly are to be expected.
Lookin' forward to seeing ya'll at the Fun 1.

Re: Head and neck restraints
Tho it looks like you question re sliding teathers was answered... Yes , I have them.... makes it easy to turn my head to one side to attach on clip, then turn the other way to release tension & hook up the other side. and re 3 inch harness, yes, they fit well... However ( like any other H &...

Re: Head and neck restraints
I got a Hybrid Pro Rage ( before Simpson took 'em over) cuz I couldn't get comfortable with a HANS in my car ..a BRD Flamingo... pretty much a Caracal/Lynx clone, with a reclining seat position. I've used it for 2 seasons & like it. The buttress behind the head is smaller than a HANS & doesn...

Re: Neck Restraints
Hi Greg - I got a Simpson one last Dec and it works fine in the BRD Flamingo. There is less of an upper collar in the back than the HANS and no modification was needed on my headrest/firewall. and I , ummm, "tested" it last weekend at the Glen. It works.

Re: Zink C4 restoration-the long term project
Hi again George. Well the sides & nose sections are the same as I had - the nose looks as beat up as I left it--gotta stop pushing people... :-) The tail is different than what I had -- but that coulda been swapped. I recall the guy that bought it from me put on those style mirrors. The body was...

Re: Zink C4 restoration-the long term project
Hi George-- Where are you located ? and where did the Zink come from ? I can't say for sure, but the front roll hoop looks a LOT like the one I put on my old Zink back in the 80's...and the Custom fuel cell cover looks like what I had made as a tank ( in pre-fuel cell days) This might be my old car ...
