Message in a Bottle (Transmission)
This evening, I was taking the axles out of the transmission of my old solo vee. Hopefully if I clean it up an put it together carefully, it won't leak as bad. When I took one of the side gears out, I was very suprised. Vibra-etched in clear cursive on the face of the gear is "hopefully this ti...

Fuel Injection: B Modified?
I managed to screw up another engine in my solo vee. I have not torn it down to see what happened, but it is no big loss on a homebuilt used engine. Getting ready to put another engine in, my buddy offered me his 1776 engine out of his Thing. The engine is equipped with CB performance dual 40mm thro...

Third gear
Well, spring is coming and it is finally warm enough to work in the garage without freezing my @** off. One of the major projects I want to get in to before racing season is changing the third gear in my transmission from stock to something a little closer ratio. I am running 22.5 X 7.2 X 13 hoosier...

Re: Winter projects???

Going to try new retainer plates and single piece boots. Contemplating a third gear change to try and split the huge jump betw...

Does anyone reproduce these decals?
Does anyone reproduce these decals? There are a pair on my late 60's early 70's homebuilt vee. I would like to get some new ones to replace these slightly shabby ones. Thanks!

Re: Autodynamics vee? Help needed
Good luck with the project, at least yours is all together right now. Take tons of digital photos (digital film is cheap) as you take it apart, so you know how things go back together. That swiss cheese generator is pretty cool.

Re: 6 or 12
You can indeed use a 6V flywheel and clutch on a 1600 engine. Don't forget, if you switch to a 12V flywheel and starter you have to clearance the bellhousing and change the bushing the starter shaft goes in ( at least with stock parts). If you are not overly concerned about weight, the 6V starter wi...
