Re: WTB: Dzus Fasteners

I've got a bunch of dzus and camlocks that I don't currently need. Shoot me an email with which size(s) you want and I'll check my parts box for you.

Dfender. I use the same one for both my Van Diemen and my IT car; it can be adjusted in just a couple of minutes for any angle seatback.

Re: Possible way to reach out to a younger audience

FWIW, and its a bit off-topic: FC tires generally are OK for 8 heat cycles unless you are up front at Nationals..$850/set "Name Brand" rebuild around $4500 every other year, with perhaps a head refresh every year. That's assuming a 10-12 race season, no bad over-revs, and again, not at the...

Re: AVGAS question

I would like to know if our low compression FV engines run on pump 87-89 or 93 unleaded octane are fine? I don't believe unleaded pump gas will pass SCCA tech, and there is some concern about the ethanol in it breaking down fuel cells. If it does indeed destroy your fuel cell prematurely you didn't...

Re: Mouth guard

For what its worth, I'm a dentist and I don't wear one.

But if you think its important, I'd be leery of any device you mold to fit yourself, and would invest in having a custom athletic guard made by your dentist. It'll cost more, but fit properly and probably interfere less with your breathing.

Re: SCCA license fees

I normally get a physical every other year anyway so I have it timed for before the license renewal. (As of this year, apparently, under 50 year olds only need to submit a medical every three years, but I checked with Topeka and you can submit one anyway if you want, as I will this year). Anyway, I ...

Re: Head and Neck Restraints

I am disappointed that the "cheap" Hans is still only available in the 20-degree form, usually not as useful for formula cars. Would the requirement by SCCA drive the change to add a 30-degree club Hans. Would it bring the cost down any? I believe I saw that the 30 degree "cheap"...

Quickjack for sale

Bought a new quickjack for my current formula car and no longer need this PBS jack. Good condition, works fine, needs a little cleanup if you want perfection. I can send photos. PBS website is http://www.quickjacks.com/jacks.html if you want a look. They were originally designed for Spec Racer Fords...
