After a little searching I think you have a Zink Z9 chassis.
There is one on the Samba for sale. I will try and post link later.

Re: What type of formula car?
This has the look of an early 70's SV. Drum brakes on the rear were common on the first cars. I was around the Bosch VW Gold Cup Series in the mid to late 70's and this chassis does not look familiar. The tag that says 73FSV02 would possibly mean it's a 1973 and chassis number 2. The common gearbox ...

Re: Formula Vee 50th Stories (Blog) and Photos
Anna,
Looking through the photos, I found a Lobo in picture #78. Does any one have more info on this car? I have one of the 2 that were built in my garage. The person I got it from had almost no information.
Thanks
Dave

Re: 110 Leaded Fuel
Some stations here in Northern Indiana sell 110. The nozzel on the pump will not fit into the filler neck on your modern street car or truck. It will fit nicely into that 69 Chevelle though. I use it in my FST but only because it is convenient. The airports around here are real tight assed about the...

There were 6 vees at Grattan last year.
This year the event is being run in conjunction with Mid-West Council so that may add a few more.

The latest Fastrack says that the bolt on valve cover proposal has been withdrawn in favor of some changes to the tech inspection rules.
And they are now asking for input on allowing dry-sumps.

Re: 2011 Rule Change
I have seen bolt ons on Vee's.
Most of us FST drivers use them.
I have 2 engines and use the ones pictured on the bottom. I always use the cork gaskets and glue them in with silicone, then coat the faces and bolt them on and let them sit for a couple of days.
No leaks in 4 years.

Re: Unleaded Gas
I have amended my original post to reflect the rule. It was not my intent to attack the clubs new rules, I happen to agree with them. My point was that there are always a few who will operate outside the rules and the likelyhood of being caught using illegal fuel has gone down with this rule change....

Re: Unleaded Gas
The rocket fuels could pass the DC test at the track, but never the full $250 lab test. Brian I agree, but now the onus is on the racer since no region is going to pop for $250 to test fuel. The only way a fuel "cheater" will be caught is by protest from another driver. You can bet that t...

Re: WDCR adopts race lap penalties for 2010
I don't live in the DC area and therefore this won't affect me. That said, those that are affected need to band together and make themselves heard. This is obviously politically driven and changing your region is not going to make your tow to other race tracks any shorter when DC runs all the formula...

I had a coil give up in the middle of a practice like that. Running fine and then poof.

Re: HANS vs. DEFENDER
I was able to look over a Defender device at Grattan this weekend. (Thank you Greg) I found it to be well made and not overly heavy. It is similar to a Hans in that they perform the same function but I really don't think the Hans people will win this battle. Meanwhile guess who will get to pay all t...

Re: Trans Am Weekend at BlueGrass Motorsports Park
It is my understanding that you do not have to join FRCCA. I am pretty sure that the SCCA insurance will be in effect as it is an scca pro race (Trans Am) weekend. And I do believe camping is allowed at the track. Also the track is going to allow competitors to leave their trailers there if they are...

Knowledgable help is really useful over and above some one to put gas in and check tire pressures. The Blackhawk school is a really good one. Lots of good instructors with open wheel experience.
