Re: Cable Droop Limiter

Only problem I know of is; cables break, so just be prepared to change it every 3 weeks or so.

Re: National Vs Regional Drivers

They aren't "far superior", they have bigger checkbooks.

If you ran every other weekend you would be surprised how well you could do.

Once again; the higher the octane the lower the BTUs per pound.

With a less than 8:1 compression 89 octane will do just fine.

Re: checking rear camber

The links should be the same length, and you adjust with the spring/shock length.

If you have a difference side to side you need to check it on a level surface.

You should be able to get camber the same on each side without much screwing around.

Re: Rain tire pressure

My best advise; is, get soft slicks, get a tire grover, grove in a copy of the Goodyear new rain tire, like Corvette uses on the street tires. Then you are fine till there is deep water and ahead of the pack if the track drys 8) I've won more than one race with those. Also at the end of the year you...

Re: Tire rejuvinator

Well, to put it succinctly, NONE. We have tried many of them and in my opinion, they might soften the top tread of the tire and it's all gone by the second lap. And then the tire might be worse than it was. We even tried a small vat and rotating the tire and giving each section 20 min of soak, nothi...

Re: HP vrs Torque for Dummies

Opps sorry, I didn't pick up all you wrote about the second motor.

"The other engine only puts out about 92HP (at 7500 rpm) but similar (72 ft. lbs.) of torque but again, at only 5500 RPM.

I didn't pick up you were back at 5500 rpm.

Re: HP vrs Torque for Dummies

The horsepower number is calculated by the mathematical equation: torque X RPM divided by 5252. So all HP and torque curves will cross at 5252 RPM since at that point 5252/5252 will be 1 "one puts out 145HP and 75 ft. lbs of torque, at lest say 10K RPM" RPM makes big horsepower! The HP cur...

Re: December Racecar Engineering Magazine and Vees

Larry How did you measure the drag? Brian Brian, sorry I just got back to the Forum. I got into the car, we marked off a wheel length on the floor, got the wind speed up and I released the brake and we timed the time to roll back that much. Repeated 3 times Then switched body work and repeated. We ...

Re: December Racecar Engineering Magazine and Vees

I'll throw in my 2 cents. In 1974 we took my Lynx into a "wind room" A room with a fan which could generate a 80mph wind out of a 4x8 foot fan area. We put the car in front of the exit for the fan on 4 scales. Body work tested was the Lynx body with the 72 era "wedge nose" (narro...

Re: Flywheel Seal - Major leak, owner prepexed!!

Just a WAG but is it a new seal?
Is the spring in the seal?
The only time I had a FW seal leak was after balancing the FW and some idiot stamped a 1 on the FW at the seal point.
Any thing like that happen?
