HANS DEVICE FOR SALE (SOLD)

HANS DEVICE: 4 years old, and used for 3 seasons. I am (reluctantly) retiring from racing. It has sliding tethers (a must have item) and is in great shape except for some wear marks on the back from the seat. It is a Sport model, size large and has foam pads installed. You'll need to buy a set of h...

Please note that I used the word "legitimate" in referring to online marketing. This is pure spam at its most malicious level.

Hell Awaits (I Hope)

I sincerely hope that there is a special place in Hell for those who hack bulletin board websites to pitch commercial products! These people are beneath contempt. They must live in the true armpits of the earth and crawl out to pitch this crap. They certainly are not familiar with legitimate online...

Re: Vintage Vee Accident @ Blackhawk

I can add that the Coroner's report apparently shows the cause of death as "blunt trauma". I was at the scene very shortly after the incident and can report that the Blackhawk Rescue and the Ambulance crews worked feverishly to save Bob. He was helicoptered to a local hospital where he succumbed. I...

Wheels Available

I have an excess of wheels. All are slotted and some have the OEM VW mark on them. All will need repainting, but do not show serious (if any) rust. If you need some spares let me know. These are all in good shape. $ 10 Each. I will roll test them on the shop floor for basic straightness and the str...

Re: reverse lock-out

If you're near any one with a vintage Zink C-4 take a look at that style (I'd send a photo but mine doesn't have one). It's about as simple as it can get and you can make it up out of scrap steel plate. It's basically a small tongue that mounts on the shifter cross-shaft and you can flip it up or d...

Noted On eBay

Just guessing here, but I'd think this thing would probably be mainly useful for wheelie demonstrations.

Formula Car Trailer

Formula Vee Trailer: Made for Vees, but would obviously handle other similar size and weight cars. Wheel channels are approx. 10 feet long. Removable tire stop on left channel. Other dimensions: Overall width (excluding wheels) is approx. 58”. Wheel channels are approx. 7.5 inches wide (inside meas...

Just a suggestion: Why not post the names of other forums that the car is listed in?
Then folks can go there to see the photos.

Re: FUEL CELL STORAGE

If storing full, is there any opinion on adding Stabil to the cell to preserve integrity of fuel?
I've been wondering about the advisability of doing this but not sure of consequences for fuel cell itself.

That's how mine is wired. One side to #61 on regulator and the other to switched "on" side of ignition switch. If using an LED watch for correct polarity of light.

Re: 110 Leaded Fuel

Both our small town local airports have refused to sell me 100LL because of "National Security". I'm not sure how this has much to do with 5 gal. of fuel but they say that they are accountable to the TSA somehow. They said they need a tail number. I just happened to remember the tail number of the p...

Re: 110 Leaded Fuel

Yeah, I was wondering that also. There's a very large Harley dealership in town and we get a lot of motorcycle traffic through here on weekends. The guy just took over what was a really crappy station and is sprucing it up with new pumps, E85 and the 110. Not sure he knows what he's talking about. O...

110 Leaded Fuel

A local gas station has just started selling 110 Octane leaded racing gas. They say the Harley folks use it. Other than being overkill for our cars, is there any downside to using this in a Vee engine? It's a handy source, and looks to be cheaper than the track fuel.

Re: Oil plug

I switched over to a magnetic plug last year and it works fine in my sump. My only quandary is that it came with a rubber o-ring gasket which seems to be holding up and sealing just fine after repeated oil changes. I've been wondering if, when I replace it, I should use another o-ring or try a stan...

Re: Where to start?

If your helmet is pre-drilled you're pretty much there. The installation of the HANS anchors on the helmet is a snap. Pretty easy even if you drill it yourself. Biggest problem is getting behind the padding to hold the nut thing while tightening the anchors. Even that's not a big deal. I drilled and...
