Re: Brakes - drums -> discs

Hi Guys, I'm not a mechanic and I don't even play one on TV. But the key to the lock on the castle gate in FV is money. We need to keep the cost down everywhere possible. Any proposed change has to have a significant cost effectiveness or be a significant safety improvement. There are lots of better...

Re: Wheel cover ban

Great post, John P. Gents, As someone who just finished his 4th year in the class, let me say that economics has to be the main consideration in any rules change. In 2011, we ran the full season and it cost us about $15k. That's a lot of money to us and we're not living in a double wide. To think th...

R45 vs R55 considerations?

I'm looking for some feedback on when to use R45 compound tires instead of my usual R55. Is there an air temperature/track temperature limit for the R45s? If that consideration is met, would you use R45 on a track that's considered hard on tires like NHMS? This and any other R45 vs R55 comments soug...

Re: VeeFest 2010 Thank You to all sponsers

Thanks to Paul, Bruce, Tom, Dick, and the FV gang for making the VeeFest a great event. And thanks to the sponsors, especially Steve Pastore and Dave Carr. Even though my Lynx suffered an electrical fire in Saturday's race that forced us to retire for the weekend, we had a great time. Looking forwar...

Re: Losing Power...

Since it was mentioned as a diagnostic rule out earlier in this thread, what are the causes of a jumping tach? Mine gets very bouncy at the higher RPMs.
