Re: Formula Vee w/Huge spares & Trailer....EVERYTHING to Race!
Car still for sale!
I am negotiable, and could always work a deal w/o trailer, spares, ect.
Looking to sell before the cold weather strikes so I can park my street car in the garage. brrrrr!

Re: Formula Vee w/Huge spares & Trailer....EVERYTHING to Race!
Several people asked for a spares list. I went thru the boxes and put this list together. This is by no means complete (there is more!), but should give you an idea of the depth of the spares!
Thanks
Jim
Thanks

Re: Engine Cases
Picked up 2 AE longblocks.
Didn't see the bores yet, but between the two I am hoping for the best.
$100 for the pair seemed like a good deal to me.

Re: Engine Cases
Thank you for the replies.
There is very little to salvage in my current engine, so I am looking to keep costs down where I can....realizing that there is risk with this.
I am going to check out a pair of engines tonight....hoping for the best!!
Thanks

Engine Cases
Hi Everyone, I am looking to upgrade my single relief motor to the newer dual relief style. I really don't have the cash for a new set, so looked around locally and found a few options. As I understand it, I want the '68 or newer cases. Do these motors have to be the single port version, or will the...

Re: Adding Ballist
I really have nothing to compair handling to, as this is my first Vee. It is probably on the tail happy side, but I do like driving this way (always had RWD street cars). The idea is that I can move these bars within the floor to play with weight. They were bandsawed a 1/4" narrower then the di...

Adding Ballist
Hi, I have to add a few pounds to my car to make weight. I have a really nice spot right under my seat that will work well. I planed on bolting several Bars of steel together so that if the drivers change (or my weight) it is very simple to add/remove a bar. What do you think is the most minimaly in...

Re: Oh No! No gears after engine install....
Hi Dietmar. Just tried and it spins over like it should. Tried the motor again, and it suddenly works now? I am confused as to exactly what happoned. My best guess is that the throwout bearing wasn't fully seated. After playing with it with the motor out, it found its happy spot. I have no idea real...

Re: Oh No! No gears after engine install....
Thanks everyone. Sorry for the delay, the boss sent me out of state for work. :( Dietmar, we are on the same page, as far as head scratching goes. ... Recheked all the external things, with slave cyl off, spring acts as it should, and I can move the lever (no binding). Seperated the trans, and reins...

Oh No! No gears after engine install....
Hi All, Thought I was in great shape (time wise) till I tried putting the car in gear today...... I removed the motor to do some work on the frame, did the work, and reinstalled the motor. I didn't touch the clutch, or anything. Today tried to drop the car in gear and ran into a problem. Although th...

Its a homebuilt car.
Here is a pic of it. With no pods...it was a cool day, and a short time trial.

Cooling Ducts...I hate them and they hate me!
Everyone, I was planning to repair my cooling ducts this winter, but after looking closer at them it would probably be best to start from scratch. Between them flying off, being dropped, and generally poorly attached (fastners into glass doesn't work!) I've had it! So.... Are they actually necessary...

I thought I saw a post with someones solid model at one point. Thats the most time consuming part. There must be some info of crash forces out there.

Re: Engine Removal...easy question!
Wow, thats really nice.
The closer and closer I look at this car the more I see how the builder payed attention to every detail. His workman ship was top notch.
Thanks for the help. I'll have to try a circle track one day!

Re: Engine Removal...easy question!
Interesting.
With a setup like that, is a different set of axles used as well? To maintain the current wheelbase?
Thanks,
Jim

Re: Engine Removal...easy question!
Success! Was able to remove it without removing the trans. Also came across this (see pic). There is an additional mounting for the trans. It slides the engine/trans to the right side of the car a couple inches. Could this possibly be for a circle track config?? Jim http://i37.photobucket.com/albums...

Re: Engine Removal...easy question!
Thanks for the offer! Car is from cali, but currently in New Jersey. Yep, already have a brace under the front of the car. As long as I have enough slack in the brake lines so that I don't have to bleed the air out again, I'll be happy. I had a big problem with the initial bleed after a new master l...

Re: Engine Removal...easy question!
Thanks! Looks like I can pull the motor, and leave the trans in place! So Will be able to roll! I have that homebuilt car from San Fran. that we spoke about a while back. The lift is a 30" or so mechanical jack, similiar to ones I have seen some people put the winch on. Don't go anwhere. I'll s...
