Re: Front Brake Drums

Surprise ! Surprise!
Looks like I and my supplier spoke too soon. Italian brake drums ( fronts) are back in stock- of course their prices have increased, but they are now available again.

Front Brake Drums

More "bad news"... tried to order Italian front brake drums the other day from my supplier (OMC brand)- the kind I have stocked and sold for years. Back ordered and expected delivery is 2050 - not a mistake. Was told this means my supplier does not have a delivery date or they may not be m...

Fuel Cell container

Have an aluminum Fuel Safe cell container- wedge style that has 4 sides with the bottom being removable. Measures 13 l x 10 h x 12 w and was intended for a Lynx but would fit other cars. Will include the original filler valve (still attached to the rotted cell) and the rear drain. Recycling soon if ...

oil coolers

Just thought I would pass on some info - in case some do not know. STOCK Type 1 oil coolers for the 36 or 40hp fan shroud now have a slightly different configuration. The older style had two bumps on the bottom, newer ones ( can't comment on the Chinese versions that are on the market or the aluminu...

Re: Blue Coil

Buyer beware:

I am seeing a lot of BLUE COILS on E-bay. When you look closer and read the details or their actual listings, they are not blue but rather a black coil even though the BLUE is pictured.($39.95)

Re: Blue Coil

Barry:

Right now the only alternative that I would suggest would be the Beru coil. Also German ( or was the last time I had one) at half the price of the Bosch.

Blue Coil

Rumor (word from my supplier) is that Bosch is no longer making the Blue coil. When checking around, most are out of stock and those that still have some , the price has reached 100 and even 200 dollars.I did find a Chinese version ( $39) , but , as always, I stay away from Chinese whenever possible...

Bandido-sold

SOLD Have edited the ad after viewing the car yesterday. Anyone out there own or know of someone who owns a Bandido? Or is interested in restoring one. Car was also sold as a McKnight or Fiberkit. A friend passed away recently- wife wants to sell/dispose of a car that I thought was in pieces but is...

Barry:

Kind of you to ask.
Entered my first ever marathon last week- did not run , but I entered.
Seriously, the knees are mending quite well. No pain walking and stairs are a breeze. So good that I am neglecting my exercises

Re: Heads Up

Steve: Thanks for asking Stairs are no problem- one foot at a time. Not allowed to do one after the other yet. PT( at home) today to remove staples. Been out to the garden, in the shop, walking with ( and sometimes without) a cane, so I guess that is progress. Actual PT this Friday so we will see wh...

Re: Heads Up

Second knee yesterday and again no pain and almost all is well. Having avoided the right knee for so long the thigh and calf muscles have gone by the wayside and I have to work on them. The "bend" in the left knee was 117 after surgery whereas this one is only 87 degrees so I have a way to...

Re: Heads Up

Steve: Thanks for asking. Yes, on the road to recovery. Met with the surgeon Wed and scheduled the other knee in three months . Kicked out of PT as I was beyond what the Physical Therapist could do and am in a "knee clinic" to improve my mobility, range of motion, and strength. No pain, no...

Barry and Bob,
thanks for the good wishes.

Surgery went well, on my feet with little pain ( Tylenol only right now) and hope this continues as the other leg is next.

Heads Up

Just a heads up- beginning Jan 16, Quixote Racing will be closing for 2-6 weeks depending on knee surgery recovery.
Continue to order parts and I will try to accommodate as best I can. Any machine work will have to wait until I can get back to the shop.

Happy New Year to all.

Re: Caracal c frame cracking

Can not comment on whether this is "normal", but as with most cracks, I would drill a small hole above the end of the crack. Chances are that that would end the progression. I would then weld some flat stock (1/8 or 3/16) to cover the crack. My 2 cents for what it is worth. Dietmar Quixote...
