Re: intake manifold/ carb question
John: Unfortunately, no. There is little that you or I can do to improve flow on a manifold. That is something that I leave to a select few. We'll assume that the carb is jetted correctly. That will definitely affect HP . Make sure that the gasket under the carb has a larger hole than the manifold- ...

Bosch points
For those using the 009 distributor and the tiger tail points (white striped or 092) ,my supplier has informed me that Bosch will no longer be making these units. The 044 points will work, but the 092's have a slightly stronger spring and a longer wire and are preferred. So, get them from your sourc...

Axel: Zu spat ! I was there in May. The parts that you refer to are: 1 and 2 are cross links. From the centers of the rod end on #1 the distance should be 22.5 inches. Number 2 cross link , the link is used to hold the primary cross link ( #1) and the vertical struts from twisting so there is no pre...

Re: Cam Wear
Dave: After speaking with the owner and after having a chance to look in my files, I am wondering if the cam wear might be due to some other issues and not cam lobe- lifter incompatibility. This engine that you referenced was rebuilt 4 years ago and had not been run since. We will never know the cau...

Log on to the Interchange- there should be a message from a member that I have forwarded regarding the Vee Line issues you requested. He is having difficulty logging on so he asked that I contact you.
Let me know if you do not get my private message.

Dave: ONLY cam I ever lost ( and I do not use any special break-in oil) was a Web grind- having said that, I was also using a two piece lifter and they were not compatible with the cam. Ironic that this is posted today- I just gave up my account with Freight Center after 10 years. Re: Brake question of the month
It is a way to get your brake bias as close to "set" as possible without being on the track. Jack up the car and place it on 4 jack stands. If you do not have a "helper" you will need some way to apply the brakes. This is where the ratchet tie down comes in. I use something diffe...

Re: Starter Wiring
You should have a heavy wire 4-6 gauge from the starter- (fat terminal which takes an 8mm nut) to your kill switch. Another fat wire from the kill switch to the + terminal on the battery. There should be a push on connector from the solenoid to your starter push button somewhere in the cockpit. The ...
