Re: Rationals scheduled in the West

The appeal of Rationals is the ability to have a Double Regional & Double National on the same weekend. In Mid West Division there are not enough entries to break even on stand alone R/R or N/N, in fact our standard R/N is only successful by adding an IT race during the Sunday National. Expect a...

Re: Oil temp warning light with oil temp gauge

Look at this http://www.fwmurphy.com/20t_25t/

this gauge has a limit switch that can be set for a specific temp to power a light. I have used these and they are good to great gauges.

Re: F1200

Barrett,

F1200 is a Regional series, not National in scope. Put your head together with the other FV racers in SWDIV and create a Regional Spec Tire FV Series. If it is well received other Divisions might embrace it. This is how IT and Spec Miata came into being.

Re: Runoffs 2010

Yes The new requirements eliminate the need to be in the top 10 of a Divisional Championship to qualify for a Runoffs invitation. The rationale behind the decision was that, while this would not affect most Divisional races in most classes, drivers competing in higher-subscribed classes were at a di...

I would think that some of the oil patch fabricators there could put you on to a local supplier. There is a selection of steel suppliers here in Tulsa.

How much does this tire/wheel package weigh? If it is heavier than what we use now what is the cost & learning curve to upgrade our shock/spring package?

Re: Tires?

The good news is this approach really makes you a better race car driver. Learning how to go fast with what you have forces you to take a deep look at what really is holding you back, and requires focus on the right areas. If you are not within .3-.4 seconds of a competitive time at Blackhawk, then...

Take your proposal and make it happen within your Division's Regional Series. Don't tell us what a great idea it is, SHOW us.

Re: Who else is running Formula Special, and what setup?

How about front spindles and steering arms? Maybe brakes as well. None of these were ever designed for the breaking and turning forces that 58 HP engines put them through, let alone the monster you have assembled.

I bought a rechargeable LED at Sam's for about $20 and love it in the attic, under the house and under the sink. Cool light, drop resistant and good battery life.

Veefan wrote:Thanks. I dug through some of my pictures and found some of Protoforms with that shaped scoop. I saw the bottom half of the inlet - the part behind the helmet - blocked off. Is that typical?
yes. that opening cools the oil and supplies the carb very well.

The scoop on my Protoform is a very nice bolt on piece. It supplies cool air to the carb AND oil cooler. You might try to contact Dave Green.

For several seasons I used 2 10X10 EZ UPs with good success. I strapped them down to the trailer and sand bags, while other shelters were flying mine stayed secure. After a heavy rain they will hold water until you drain them or they drain (rip) themselves. For this season I have a 12X24 that attach...

This created an immediate and dangerous situation for me and others on track as breathing became difficult. I had this experience foll...
