Here is the shifter end on a 67-69 Zeitler. Pretty much all VW.

I think I found the problem... Bought the hard line from Advance parts. The label on it is a little misleading. It says 3/16 but it also says 4.7mm. You have to look at a second label to figure out which one you have in your hand. Guess which one I had?

ok... 2 more questions on suits. I have found a supplier of used SFI/5 suits that were only used for 1 or 2 races and are near perfect. Any opinions on 1 piece versus 2-piece. Monoposto rules just say a Nomex Suit is required... nothing about SFI certification. Is FIA Certification ok? Thanks again.

Easy way to tell is to flip it over (or crawl under it if it is a car) and remove the oil drain plug. Using a flashlight, look to see if the ring gear (the big one) is on the starter-side of the transaxle. If it is on the other side, it is not flipped.
