Scott, I would think you would need a stiffer spring. If you add preload, it will be stiffer initially but once the force overcomes the preload (during which the shock would not move much) you are right back to the spring rate you started with. Maybe this could be described as an abrupt falling rate...

I am going to give this a shot. Being fairly new to zero roll, tell me if this makes sense. I am racing a FST.
