Double Regional at NHMS last weekend
Kudos to my friend and FV newbie, Harry White who purchased my LYNX back in June, went to driver's school at LRP in June and was then allowed to race in his first race the next day! Harry finished 7th out of 21 Sat in the pouring rain. He just took ownership of my Laser MKII(the former Kevin W. car ...

Re: Race Gas vrs Av. Gas
100ll.com tells you the airport and the fuel providers. At my local airport, I just called two of the fuel providers and tell them I'm want to come and fill some gas cans. They are both very happy to have me come by and fill me up from their trucks. For anybody traveling near the area, Simsbury CT ...

Re: SRF vs VEE
My one and only car to car collision was with a SRF. Anyone who thinks they belong in the same race group as a FV or FST needs their head examined. Those cars sit up so high you can practicaly run under them. Here in GreatLakes division our stuarts for the most part have enough sence not to put the...

Re: It's a buyers market!
Lots of activity in the For Sale and Wanted Section. Great new deals and some price reductions. If you want to get into FV, FST, or upgrade to a new car, now is the time. http://sracing.com/ForSale/forsale.htm Jim SR Wow, Jim I counted 20 choice VEE's in the for sale section, not counting what's in...

Re: Lime Rock National Results?
Did they tow it from the roll bar instead of the front beam? Yes, and recently (how long I don't know 'cause I don't get towed often  ) they are using a strap that locks - the driver cannot let go like the old rope. Also, off track is very muddy and the tires dig in. They are in such a hurry t...

Thanks guys for all the info. The former owner passed away before ever being able to drive the car so I'm trying to find out if his widow knows where the papers are.

Re: AVGAS question
[quote="Bill Carroll"]There are both good and bad theory here, but I don't know anyone who ever had a fuel problem with Avgas (100LL), I worked on Aircraft for years and ran it in everything from lawnmowers to Drag cars. I did notice a bit excessive lead buildup if we were running lean. I ...

Kevin may have left our ranks but has passed on the torch to this 63 year old who has just purchased his Laser. I can truthfully say that all my dealings with Kevin have been great and he has kindly offered to assist me with information on the car in the future. His departure is our loss in MHP.

If you ever decide to get back into racing, I have a perfect class for you: NASA's Camaro-Mustang Challenge. Each of your major concerns is a non-issue and you can build and race a car in the class for equal or less money than a FV. I know, because I raced CMC for the past five years, but this year...

Re: Oh No! No gears after engine install....
Jim: Not sure if you received my PM, so here goes. If I read this correctly, you did NOT remove the pressure plate or the clutch disc, but when you reinstalled the engine, placed it in any gear, it acts as if the clutch PEDAL is depressed. I interpret that to mean that with the car in gear it still...

Re: wanted amb transponder
Matt's absolutely right. It's easier to just buy a new one. I started hammering AMB after buying a car with the transponder included and then finding out that AMB wouldn't let us transfer ownership. The only reason that AMB i\has created the $50 transfer fee is that a bunch of us on specmiata.com an...
