Re: Goodyear tires
F500 racers have been in the same boat with just Hoosiers for several years now. Shoot does this mean we will lose all awareness of other cars on the track, take two laps to get up to speed, only have that speed on straights and throw an anchor out in turns and basically get in the way of any good ...

Re: 1984 June Sprints @ Road America - history
The 1984 June Sprints was my 2nd Sprints. There were 55 cars entered in race 2 (combined FV & F440), 51 FV and 4- F-440. Practice and qualifying Friday was in the rain- not a very nice day. Qualifying: 1- a 440 if you can believe it 2- Scott Rubenzer – Citation- (the first of the new style that...

Re: Spec Tires
WTF is this gentleman's agreement you're talking about? If anybody would shave tires, it would be our team. We don't because it would be a waste of time. Our car's have every legal trick that I think is worth bothering with. Because I care, I've worked with other people that care, to put rules in p...

Re: Spec Tires
I agree with Greg on a number of arguments, but this spec tire thing will never happen. It's a cultural issue, which I can't blame on anyone - the US is built on a culture of being the biggest, the best, the fastest, the highest, whatever. Yes, spec tires can be as complicated as anything, but they...

I replaced my bladder when it died with a JAZ 290-104-01 4 gall cell in my Mysterian M2...12.5" length x 12"Wide x 8.5" depth.I now sit a bit more upright but I prefer that position anyway...plus it cost about $150 and a bladder was approx $700!!!!But I race only in Ontario, you cannot...

Re: Towing with a Vanagon?
I read an article on towing with VW vanagons ages ago, there was a lot of input from guys who had done it and overall it wasnt recommended,a basic open trailer maybe with a struggle, but an enclosed one with the car ,tools etc, I wouldnt try it.I saw a local VW Van for sale and thought about it,but af...

Re: 2011 Runoffs Time Cards and Trap Speeds
I think those of us who can race at two dozen tracks within 1,370 miles of our houses should be thankful. I think those of us that can attend FV races with 10,15, or 20 cars within several hrs of our homes should be especially thankful. I think those of us that can attend FV races with a race group...

RIP Dan Wheldon and thoughts are with his Family, hopefully now INDY will stop racing on OVALS,especially with that many cars which are way to fast for oval racing especially in an open wheel/open cockpit situation.

Re: Bolt on valve covers
Of the two options, bolt on is less likely to come off, both are a problem but thats a VW engine...anything can happen...its called RACING  I like bolt on covers, purely for cosmetic reasons.People who rent out cars and are busy at the track obviously go with wire covers as its cheaper and a hel...
