Update: I got in touch with Charlie Ruehl and he was the last one to drive the car. Steering box location
My recently acquired FV had the steering box mounted upside down with the pitman arm facing forward (on a upper chassis crossmember). What are the pros and cons of this arrangement? I picked up this chassis and the seller believed it to be a Lazer but Larry Campbell doubts that. Anyone have any ideas? It has a trailing arm suspension (unlike a Lazer), cockpit is quite narrow, and steering box mounts upside down with pitman arm facing forward (both like a Lazer). http://lh6.ggph...

You might check with a local kart track... many are large enough for a vee and if you able to test on weekdays the tracks are empty.
