Re: Retro Letter 2004 or Why SCCA System Sucks

Interesting that I hear all this talk about part shortages, but nobody buys parts when I list them for sale. After investing and storing for decades... That's why there's a parts "shortage". How many drivers/owners have piles of stuff sitting around in garages, sheds, storage lots all ove...

Is everyone hoarding their engines? Haven't seen an engine listed for sale since August.

Did he have to have it the weekend of the Kettle at RA? Sorry I'll miss the sale. Since I've started in racing last year Bob has been a wealth of information and resources. While not the closest place to drive to, I always knew I had a place for parts for my car. Best wishes Bob...

Trying to find a car

I've posted a picture with the hopes of finding out what happened to one of these two cars. The cars, both Mysterians, were purchased by Kent and Lou Anne McBee. Kent's car is #54 and Lou Anne's is #53. After a couple other owners, I've come to purchase what was Kent's car. I'm trying to find out wh...

In the process of moving stuff around I spilled oil on my seat belts. How can I go about cleaning the belts without damaging them?

Re: Midwest FV Drivers Association

I think it should be the Cendiv FV Drivers Association and we should focus on promoting FV turnout in our own division. We don't need by-laws or officers to do this. IMO, the only "driver's association" we really need is a group of FV owners on an email list trying to promote the class in...

Re: Midwest FV Drivers Association

As a guideline geographically, the midwest would be made up of the Central and Great Lakes regions of the SCCA. Gives you a general idea of which states we're targeting.

Midwest FV Drivers Association

We are thinking about forming a Midwest FV Driver's Association with the primary goal of using it as a vehicle for promotion, a possible future midwest based series, and maybe to be a unified "independent" (ie. not SCCA controlled) voice for the future of FV. Before we go to that bother, w...

As everyone has said, a really great race. Probably one of the best races of the week, that wasn't ruined by rain. When I wasn't busy working rescue I was taking pictures. It's my first attempt at race photography so I've got mixed results. But if you were on track during qualifying (sorry no race p...

To balance or not to balance, that is the question

I have a question regarding balancing your tires. I have been told you do need to balance your tires and that you don't need to. Which is it? If it is needed, are there any drawbacks to not getting it done?

Air filter size

I've seen different sized/shaped K&N filters. Is there a performance difference between the different sizes and shapes? I know that different filters can fit in different places, outside of that, is there any difference?

Re: Official FV Discussion: SCCA Runoffs 2010

I like how in the shots of me flying through the air and spinning around, you can see a valve cover in motion in the background. That means the valve cover was still on the track when we entered turn 8. How can there be a gallon of oil AND A LARGE METAL OBJECT in the track and not have a debris fla...

I know the rule for Hans being required isn't until next year in SCCA, but I'm considering getting one this year. My helmet is already pre-drilled for the Hans. Do I need to take it somewhere to have the Hans anchors installed?
