Re: Oil filter questions
Hi Jeremy, without knowing where the filter is located it would be hard to figure out what it would be but a AC Delco PF53 which comes on a Saturn car which I have will also work on a remote oil cooler bracket and it is the filter that I used on my car for the last 10 years. As for the location of t...

Re: SR Racing is Retiring before 2014
Jim I am real sorry to hear that you are retiring again but I understand that since I just did myself. Where is everyone going to get all of the specialty stuff the vee's need to keep running? Since Lybarger retired you are the only shop left that caters to the vee community that actually has the pa...

Re: Just don't get it!
Yes we can bitch about tires till the cows come in but that is only about 1/4 to 1/3 of the cost of racing. If you do like Steve does and if you look around at most of the top national drivers me included we all manage our tires so as to get the most out of them. They are unfortunately the most visa...

You might want to contact VIR and ask them if you could part it there. They do have security there at least on race weekends.

Re: Daytona, WTF!
I found out about it since it was in the program. Did find the group and talked to Lisa and she said it was a last minute thing by VW. It is a shame they didn't let the fourm know about it since this is FV not apex site.Great weekend with sunny and warm weather, unfortunatly it is back to work today...

Re: remember "Pro Vee"?
I can tell you what started the wreck at IRP since I was there. When we started the race my car was getting looser as it keep getting darker and I almost hit the wall in turn 1 and after changing my line I started to move back to the front and I had got back to third and Greg was first with Brad sec...

Re: FV 50th Celebration Announcement
Thanks Steve, but that might affect my attendance as a racer. Of course I would have to resurect the chassis #1 EV3 or the only EV2 both of which were made before the SCCA rule makers decided 1 3/8" roll hoops were better than 1 1/4" hoops that I made both chassis with. I am about to renew...

I had heard that there was a possibilty that there was not going to be a requirement of the need to have a Hans device for the 50th bday event. What is the status on this?

Re: rear end steps out
On my car if it was a little more than I was confortable with I would just toe in the rear somemore since it was easy to do at the track, so if you have an easy way to do it you might try that.

Sorry to see you go Bob. But I am counting down the months to my retirement myself. Link Pin front beams
Hey guys I went to a bug show last weekend in New Cumberland PA and while looking around their sales area I noticed that they had 3 brand new link pin front beams. I forgot to see if they were bearing or fiber but the want $195 each for them which is a good price since no one can get them. ACME Car ...

Hi Thor, hope things are going well for you, but I doubt the vee world will miss me, besides I have just stopped racing not gone away. I do have 17 cars that I have built that I will continue to make parts for. I hope everyone races safe but it could possibly be a good source of some ocasional spend...

According to Dean is that his battery charger was malfuntioning and he thought it was charging but had some broken wires and he could not start the car because the battery was dead so did not make the grid.

Re: Spec Tires
Input back from Dean is that Goodyear bean counters decided that there weren't enought sales in FV so they decided to not make tires. Man am I glad I stopped racing becuase the call to Goodyear isn't needed after 30 years of racing on Goodyears and WTF are they thinking! Ed What are you going to do ...

Re: Spec Tires
After talking the Womer factory driver, Dean Curtis, it appears as this spec tire issue is a moot point since Goodyear did not make any tires so as soon as the left over tires are gone everyone will be on Hoosiers, hence a spec tire class. I still have some Goodyears mounted on wheels if anyone is i...

Re: Frame Material
I use 1"x2" for front of chassis and 2"x2" for rear of rear roll hoop which is usually 1020 steel. Locally in DC area I can get stock material in 14 guage or 11 guage for both. Some of my earlier cars were made from .065 material that I got from Dillsburg Aeroplane where I get my...

Re: Mounting GoPro
I don't like the roll bar system for an open wheeled car so I made a small piece of aluminum that I hose clamped to the roll bar that had room for a piece of velcro and then I put the other piece of velcro on the back of the camera. When you attach the camera to the roll bar then take a zip tie and ...

Re: TOP AUTOWERKS MOTOR
Forgot to mention that I will include a custom built shiping crate with the motor. It also is a full flow motor with -8 fittings. The two races on the motor are a 2nd to Rick Shields at New Jersey where I needed another 100 feet to get the win and a 2nd to Roger at the Glen with dragging front brake...
