1991 Citation 90V for sale

1991 Citation Formula Vee 90V. Extremely well put together car. Raced SEDIV/SARRC since 2000 and runs in the lead pack. If you are capable of driving it, this car will put you up front. Lots of wins and podiums. If you want a reference, ask Shannon Jones, Fred Clark, or Russ Stalvey (vee drivers in ...

Re: SRF vs VEE

as for the question of who i'd rather run with than SRF..... you can put me with atlantics. FC. FF. F5. FSCCA. pick one, or pick all. i run with them often and we all do fine. we have similar visibility, and as anyone who runs open wheel can testify, if you mix it up with another open wheel car........

Re: SRF vs VEE

preaching to the choir with me. i raised concerns about this for the nashville race. luckily only one or two showed so it was not an issue. i lost a car in central florida (sebring) several years ago to the SRF's.....along with another vee driver. nasty wreck and and it totally lunched my car, as we...

i don't think i got 4th. i'm pretty sure i didn't complete enough laps to be credited with a finish.

Re: Any Heavy Equipment Operators out there?

wilson community college in wilson, nc has courses in this. and i can assure you that it's much less that 17k. i had a friend that went through the program, albeit 20 years ago. but 17k sounds like a hose job.

yeah....they actually ARE free! two years ago when atlanta ran it they were 25 bucks. when chattanooga took over they are free. 100 amp power, water, cable tv. if you're in a motorhome, nashville is a great paddock.

Re: Nashville Super Speedway June 26-28, 2009

my concern is not about driving style or passing techniques. i've passed more than a few SRF in my days. my concern is about PHYSICS, and the weight differences and lack of sight lines inherent in SRF's. irregardless of a vee driver's ability, when hit by something that weighs approximately 60-70 pe...

Re: Citation oil cooler

this is the set up i have on my car. i have very clear pics on my home computer that i can send you to show you how it is set up. it requires replumbing the oil pump and a remote filter mount at the front of the engine. the cooler sets directly behind the carb and plumbs in and out of a block on the...

Re: Nashville Super Speedway June 26-28, 2009

gotta agree about the draft. i've used them more than once to sneak by a competitor. while they can't see us behind them, neither can anyone else. i've spoke to one other vee driver who has absolutely no interest in the event with spec racer fords grouped with us. the grouping i usually see for SRF ...

Re: Nashville Super Speedway June 26-28, 2009

in cfr, there were quite a few. thing is, it only takes one.

with the high rear on the car and difficult sight lines, it's hard for them to see little vees. we're small, we're low, and if we tuck in behind them, they can't even tell we're there.

Re: Exhaust Length

this has a simple answer. the answer is 9 feet. simple....but not correct. lol when you get into exhaust building, it's complicated to get the best tuned exhaust to get the most performance out of the engine. it's easier, much less work, and less of a headache to farm this out to a qualified exhaust...

Re: Nashville Super Speedway June 26-28, 2009

They have us grouped with Spec racer fords. a crappy grouping to say the least. i have already contacted the safety steward and the chief. the chief contacted me back and they will take a look at the issue next week. central florida ran vees with SRF and it was pure carnage. they can't see us due to...

Re: Rear tire size question

i've always heard this addressed at "short rears" and "tall rears". the tall rears are the standard normal tire used in most applications. i haven't ran blackhawk farm in a very long time so i can't comment on the proper tire for that, but normally, the short rears are found on t...

Re: Brake shoe break-in

i've had students come to driver school complaining that the car "won't stop"......only to find out they're running stock front shoes. their astonishment when they put a set of carbotechs on is very common. at a heavy braking track like kershaw, you'll destroy a set in no time. and they wo...

Re: FV Racing Sim Development

that's a good point. i'd have loved to had one for barber last year. there are certain tracks that i've ran so many times that i can do them in my sleep. and often do. when i'm laying in bed at night before the race, i tend to "drive the track in my head". i'm sure a lot of people do that....

well............the author of this post is trying to put together a sim. he's trying to gather information to make the sim as realistic as possible. but a sim is just that.....a simulation. it's not the same. and some people may confuse that. then again, some people get enough of a thrill imagining ...

Re: FV Racing Sim Development

If you really want this sim to be realistic, you'll need to include lots of oil leaks and lessening visibility for the driver as the race progresses. maybe the screen could get blurry and hard to see the longer you run behind another vee. and cars will need TRW boxes that go to crap when they take a...

i can only speak for myself.....but there are many reasons i haven't raced much in the last two seasons. the biggest were a move/new job. the escalation in fuel prices really cut into the towing budget for sure.....i took a long, hard look at what it would cost to just get to a race. this was a big ...
